Isabela just smiled all the more now that she knew she had been right, he had never had a girlfriend. That would make this interaction between them all the more entertaining she was sure. Oh she didn’t have any plans to seduce him; not right now anyway he was still hurt and she liked having men come to this desire on their own. But she was going to try and treat him to an education he most likely never had before; and that was feelings. If it wasn’t for the fact she had seen the blood she would almost certain that this man was an android or something of that nature. “Well I thought someone like you would be all over wanting to study the chemistry that happens between and man and a woman first hand.”

He looked to her as she smiled almost right away to his answer and question before she was eventually explaining that she was surprised he wasn't interested in the chemistry between two people. Aldric had to smirk a little. Clearly she misinterpreted him... which wasn't a bad thing. Aldric was well aware what could happen between two people... the chemistry that took place when one 'fell in love' was very simple; and even more distracting. One reason Aldric never let himself into something like that... he didn't want to be THAT distracted from his work.
Aldric hadn't always been so cold about these things though, and that was something he would more likely not try to share with her. Still he would allow himself a minor hint that would probably settle her curiosity. "Oh the ideas aren't news to me..." He commented, a small smirk on his lip again before he continued a little further. "I just don't need it myself."

“Ideas, only ideas everyone needs to feel the touch of another human.” Isabela pointed out setting up a little now letting the game be forgotten for a moment. “It’s wired inside of use to desire to be close to someone, to feel their heart beat mixed with your own and to indulged in heated passion.” She smiled at him for a moment then decided to do something else and let her hand rest on his leg for a moment. There was of course a blanket between them but she wanted to see his reaction before pushing on a little more. After all he was still hurt and she didn’t need him to get worse but she really was interested in his reaction.

Aldric's expression didn't seem to change at all as Isabela appeared to be a little shocked at his expression (and rather cold association) of love and closeness to other people. She abandoned the game, explaining to him that she believed everyone should be close to someone at least once in their life. While Aldric found that to be a rather shallow association with how people should be considered 'close' he didn't say anything about it. After all he didn't believe he fell into the stereotype.
It seemed she was going to make a slight advancement though, inching a little closer and letting her hand rest on his leg. The intention was clear; to get a reaction out of him. Her smile was warm, but Aldric didn't seem to budge at all, his eyebrow only raising slightly to look to where her hand now rested, then back up to her. "I've survived so far without..." He countered her, eyebrows arching almost in challenge to her as he eyed her for a moment. He had loved once in the past, and he had to admit now that this woman reminded him of her a little. However he also remembered how that went over, and would rather not repeat the event.
He wasn't all together lying either though... Aldric never lied. Bent the truth, told half stories, sure. But never did he lie. There had been one woman, but he had never dated her, nor had they had any closeness. So what he said was true... it just wasn't his whole story. And he doubted she would learn of it either.

It didn’t take a mind reader to know that there was more to Aldric then he was letting on. Most people did not turn this cold to love unless something bad had happen; either a broken heart or a damage mind. Though she wasn’t fully against throwing out that there was some damage to his brain, but she was more he willing to bet it was a broken heart.
It became even more learn when she placed her hand on his leg and the way he looked at it then at her as if challenging her it was more clear to her that he was suffering from a heart break more than anything else. Isabela didn’t remove her hand nor did she let it travel up anymore, instead she just looked him right in the eye. “what was her name.”

There was a moment of almost cold silence between the two of them; and Aldric could practically see the wheels turning behind Isabela's eyes as she looked to him; trying to figure things out about him the same way he had been this whole morning. She didn't move at all, just sitting there for a moment as she thought about it and eventually came to her conclusion. He eyed her for a moment, wondering what move she would make next; and not on the chess board. Between the two of them he could tell here was a calculated game being played out between only the two of them; and this was her move. And it was a surprising move to say the least.
The Name? Well she had come to the conclusion that he was surprised anyone else would. There were a limited number of people in the Galaxy in his time who knew about the events of a woman coming up and hurting him; betraying his trust like she had, and even fewer in this time who knew about it. Aldric had refused to say her name since it had happened, and to this day he hadn't muttered it even to himself in private. And now she wanted to hear the name? He wouldn't bend so easily.
Her name doesn't matter. Aldric insisted after a moment. It was enough that Isabela had found it out just from their interactions, did the name really have weight on the matter? No. Name or no name; the story was the same; and the story was the part that mattered.

It was clear in his eyes he had not expected her to guess that a woman had hurt him, maybe other people couldn’t see what she was seeing or maybe he was letting his guard down slightly due to the pain he was feeling. But there was also the point that Isabela knew men, she knew what they liked and what they wanted, she had also seen a great many heart break in her life. Many men turned to her at times to help heal that heart break and she was good at relieving some pain for a while. Maybe that was why her path crossed with his, not only to save his life but maybe help heal his heart.
“no The name is not important I guess, but tell me what happen.” She coaxed him picking up the chess board now and putting it to the side before settling once again beside him so that they could look at each other. Shehad a feeling he wouldn’t like this and might even put up a fight, however he was pretty much stuck so it pretty much left him helpless in the fact that he would have to tell her.

She took the board from between them, and then sat back down again as close as she had been before; with the only exception being that she had taken the board from between them now; leaving nothing in their way. That also meant that Aldric had one less distraction, and one less excuse to hide behind. He sighed lightly as she agreed with him that the name didn't matter after all. He nodded lightly, having known he was right anyway about it. Still, she wanted to know what had happened between himself and the woman.
Aldric couldn't dodge this one by saying it wasn't important like he could to the last question, as both of them knew that wasn't the case with this story. Sighing lightly Aldric paused; growing silent as if refusing to answer the question would make it go away.
It didn't.
After a long several moments he spoke and answered finally. "There is a history of women in my life leading me to trust them, and then stabbing me in the back. It's easiest not to be distracted by it." Aldric eventually answered coldly.

Moving the chess board away had taken away any chance or anything really for Aldric to hide behind, no she was asking questions she was going to answers from. Not to mention Isabela could see that he needed help healing from this, that he needed to get over whatever hurt had caused him this great pain so that maybe one day he might find a reason to love again.
After she had asked her question the two of them just sat there for a while, it was clear he wasn’t happy about this at all and it as also clear that he hopped if he remained quiet about it that she might drop it. Isabel had however learned how to wait people out, to keep still until the right moment and in the ends she had won. Aldric broke down and told her he had a history of trusting women that would stab him in the back later. “So it wasn’t just one girl, why don’t you start from the beginning and tell me everything.”

He continued to sit there, looking to Isabela still as she eyed him the same. It would figure that the explanation he had given wouldn't be enough for her, causing Aldric to sigh a little at the moment and remain quietly looking to her. She of course took it the wrong way, which caused him to smirk. It was by far not just the one woman he had loved, but he did have a history with other women who had done him wrong. She had still jumped the gun a little and rushed a conclusion she didn't need to. Anyway, that didn't get him out of the situation he was in.
Seeing as he had no where else to go though he sighed a bit and began speaking again. "Mostly family never being around i became self reliant." He explained with a nod before continuing; still keeping it as vague as possible. "When i did rely on a woman outside of the family... i regretted it. Not a mistake i'll make again." Aldric explained flatly, not about to go into full detail about it. It was enough of an answer that he suspected she would be fine with it.

They once again sat there looking at each other, once again it was clear he wasn’t’ to happy about the idea of going into detail about his life or what had happen. Finally he did answer her but it was a very short and didn’t give any information at all kind of answer. This only caused Isabel to raise her brow slightly as she looked at him, before smiling and shaking her head.
“you already know that is not a satisfactory answer Aldric.” She moved to get slightly more comfortable on the bed and looked at him again, her hand once again on his knee. “Might as well tell me the whole story.”

He looked up at her as she made herself comfortable on the bed, again resting her hand on his knee as she continued to try and get the information out of him that she was looking for. It was around this time though that he did have something to hide behind, arching his brow a little as he looked over to her again. "Why so interested? I don't suppose this is all part of helping my ribs heal." Aldric eventually asked, forcing himself to sit up a little more with a bit of a hiss as if he needed a reminder of what was broken.
"What are you looking for?" He asked, assuming she had some kind of an alternative motive behind trying to dig into his past. No one ever dug this far into his past without wanting something out of it.

Once again he looked down at her hand that was resting on his knee and once again he had his brow arched at her a bit but she only smiled at him. Though she didn’t remove her hand from his knee as he asked her questions about why she wanted more information about his past life. “Well because I am here to help you heal your ribs and isn’t your heart located in the same area.” She leaned forward and placed a hand on his chest. “you need to be healed fully Aldric and maybe that’s why our paths have crossed, not only to heal your body but your heart as well.” She didn’t move back, she didn’t remove her hand from his chest but looked into his eyes.

Isabela remained sitting there for the moment, looking down and into his eyes for the longest time as she went on to answer his questions, the patent smile still on her lips. Aldric watched her for a moment, and after a moment she was giving her reason. He kept his eyes on her's not seeing any signals that she was lying about her reasoning. She really wanted to just help him through it it would seem. Someone of course failed to mention to her that perhaps he didn't want the help, and besides that he still believed there was nothing wrong with him or his heart. Just because he didn't want such an attachment again.
"And what if i told you there wasn't a problem with my heart?" Aldric eventually countered, watching as she leaned a little further into him, resting her hand on his ribs. He almost winced just with the thought of it, but she was gentle enough that it didn't actually put pressure on any of the damaged bones, just giving her enough support to rest there and feel his heart beat.

Isabela tilted her head to the side slightly when he asked her what if there was no problem with his heart. The worse part was that he fully believed that, he had caged his heart and hide it away so much that he wasn’t willing to let anyone in. He wasn’t willing to let someone care for him or even think about letting himself care for another person. Of course he thought it was ok, after all how could he get hurt with his heart locked away so deep that it would never been seen again; but Isabel knew it wasn’t’ healthy.
“I know there is a problem with you heart.” Isabela answered then without another word she leaned in and kissed him gently. After a moment she pulled back and smiled. “That’s why I know there is a problem with your heart.”
