His hands pressed together below his face with his chin resting on his finger tips Aldric watched as he was now sat upright. She commented back, explaining that she could take time away from work whenever she liked being her own boss. Not something Aldric generally agreed with, but then again he supposed he never really worked for himself; always having a client or something to bring in the money. Still he doubted this home ran it self, and she had already mentioned when she left his side the first time that she had done so to get some work out of the way... clearly she did more then she was letting on.
His eyes didn't just watch the board as it powered on though - the chest pieces all coming to life on the tiled board - but they also settled on Isabela's face for a brief second. She seemed to be confident, perhaps thinking Aldric had made a mistake of some kind. It had first crossed her face when he looked to the books. Perhaps she thought he was surprised she had such books or capable of reading in general? Not the case at all. She looked as thought she enjoyed pleasure, and the finer things of life, but what set her apart from many was that he had already determined she wasn't always of such high class. She had earned it somehow, and to do that required intelligence; not just a good hand of cards. She had not only earned this estate somehow, but maintained it for what looked like several years now.
In summery; This was not the face of a woman who was uneducated.
After that brief second (literally only a fraction of a second having gone by) his eyes returned to the game as she made her first move. The truth was he had learned a lot about her already, let alone from the first move.

Isabela hadn’t noticed Aldric watching her, well really studying her. It had happen so quick and Isabela was so us to people looking at her that most times she didn’t even notice anymore. Not that she would have done much but maybe smile at him, or allow him to ask what ever questions he might have about her. After all she had asked him questions so it was only fair to offer him the chance to as well. But Aldric didn’t open his mouth to ask questions and Isabela hadn’t seen him looking at her as her eyes were on the board before the two of them.
“So is there someone I should find or get in contact with to let them know you’re alright?” Isabela asked looking up from the board when she made her first move. She didn’t know what it was but with her conversation always came easier when she was setting across a table with a game between her and the person she was talking to. She did not know that he had in fact not travel to this planet alone. If she had known Isabela would have offered to find the girl and give her protection as well.

Aldric watched as she made her move and then glanced up to him, Aldric turning at the same time to study the board in front of him and calculate what his next moves might be. He decided not to really put much effort into this game, as the board showed traces of tampering and extreme wear over the years. It was very likely that it was somehow rigged, and though by traditional means it was impossible to cheat at chess, a computerized version might grow tricky. He was sure he would have noticed cheating, but on the off chance he didn't he wasn't going to force any effort into the game. Still Aldric's half game was far more strategic then most people trying at their best, so it would be an interesting game no matter what.
Isabela asked her question and Aldric gave a thoughtful sound as he considered his options. If she was being watched for harboring Aldric and sent for Quinn, they might get to Quinn before Isabela's people could. On the other hand as well if Quinn was being watched and was brought in, it would lead the Hutts right to Aldric and in turn Isabela. Either possibility was reason for Aldric to leave her out of it, especially when you considered that Quinn wasn't the Hutts target, and that he had set her on a safe rout off of the planet and away from Hutt trouble. "No." He answered after a second and made his move.

Isabela watched him look the board over, it was true it was very well used but she had never tampered with the board so that she could cheat. There really was no point to do that, as chess was more of a thinking game then really of tricks. It was well used however as it had been her late husband’s favorite game to play and he had taught it to Isabela. They would spend hours at the board together talking, he would share everything with her about who he was and the business. It had taken Isabela a lot longer however to warm up to him, after all at first she was nothing more than a slave and one that had been abused by her last master. But as time went on she had opened up and one day over a game of chess he had told her that he loved her. She had admit that tough she cared for him she didn’t love him, but he wasn’t angry telling her that love might come in time. But that he would still like to marry her and take care of her the rest of his life; so they had married and she had been happy. Isabela often thought of him when she looked at the chess board, and wondered if she would have fallen in love with her husband if he had lived longer.
After asking her question, she could tell that Aldric was thinking a bit. Both on what move he was going to make first as well as her question. When he finally answered however she knew he was lying to her. After all it was part of her unspoken skills to know when someone was lying to her; that’s how she could spot being cheated. But she didn’t push the issues, if he didn’t want to trust her then that was on him. So she made another move before asking another questions. “Where are you from Aldric.”

Aldric made his move a moment after answering her question, continuing to examine both the board and the woman who sat across it. It didn't take him much effort at all to learn anything he needed to. He had hardly lied when it concerned Quinn either, he knew she would be fine and there would be no point in informing Isabela other wise. Besides that the risk was still very real that attention would come if anyone changed the regular pattern they had. And so Aldric said nothing of it; for once trusting that Quinn would follow his instructions to the letter and as long as she did that she would come out of this in better shape then he was.
It never eve really crossed his mind that she might be asking about any kind of family...
She made another move and Aldric remained silent, fingers pressed together at his lips before she was asking another question, this time focusing on him more once again. Aldric arched his brow slightly at the question. She had his identification still, and surely could have gotten the information that way, but seemed to prefer it to be heard. That was the precise opposite from how Aldric liked his information. People could lie where facts simply couldn't, and if he really wanted to he could lie without giving any indication away... it was part of his job. He could read a lie as well as disguise one flawlessly. However she seemed to want the opposite.
Still seeing no reason to draw it out or dodge the question he shrugged lightly and made his next move while simultaneously answering the question. "My mother was from Alderaan, but I have spent my life on Coruscant." He replied factually without missing a beat, his eyebrows arching slightly in question to her now. "You're accustom to this planet... clearly you've been here most of your life. Since Birth?" He asked, believing that to be the case.

Isabela noticed him arching his brow but once again said nothing to it. Apparently he didn’t understand the reason why she was asking questions was for the mere affect that she wanted to have some light conversation with him and get to know him. Granted she could just leave him here in this room to rot while he healed, letting him alone with nothing but the walls to look at. Though in truth now that she was setting her with him she couldn’t help but wonder if that was something he wouldn’t enjoy. Out of all the men she had ever met Isabela had to admit that this man was by far the most strange. Maybe that’s why she kept on with the conversation.
“Coruuscant is lovely, I’ve been there a few times to inquire items and trade some of my collection away as well. They have some interesting taste that is for sure, but I’m sure they say the same things about us dirt farmers here.” Well dirt wasn’t really what they farmed here but it made a good point she was sure as she made another move while he asked her a question. “yes I was born here, sold as a slave when I was a young girl when my father couldn’t pay his debts then set free by my husband.” That was her basic history all out on the table before him; clearly she was not ashamed by any of it.

Aldric watched her for a moment as she was making her next move and spoke about how she had indeed been to Coruscant. This wasn't something that entirely surprised Aldric, as she seemed to be a well traveled and well educated person. Knowing she had been to the core worlds, as far into the interior as Coruscant even, didn't come as a surprise then. Hearing her continue on, Aldric smirked a little bit, hearing her comment specifically about how people had interesting tastes on Coruscant, or here specifically. Tastes that Aldric didn't generally share.
"Everyone has an interesting taste somewhere or another." Aldric observed with a knowing look up at her and then made his next move, not really considering it for too long but still being rather sure about it. These types of games were child's play for Aldric, he had even played a whole game once without having a game board to use as reference. Leaving the next turn to her he glanced around again.

“Indeed many do.” She responded back and study the board for a while. She knew he was good and it was proving he was very well skilled in this game. She had only ever played for fun and though she knew her way around the board she knew as well that in the end It would be a miracle if she won. That was why she had placed no money on the game, or anything really, because she knew she would loose and those she could take loosing as well as anyone else she hate to loose something on a game she had no hope of winning.
“so tell me Aldric what are your taste?” She watched him look around the room a bit more and once again wondered at what kind of man he was. She had slept beside him and even had been wearing a nightgown but he had made no advances toward her like other men would. Granted he was hurt but that wouldn’t stop most men from flirting, it was almost like he didn’t know how.

He let his gaze fall around the room for only a few seconds; not having expected anything to have changed really but it was probably his bored eye more then any kind of anticipation. Before more then a few seconds had past he had surveyed the whole room and looked back to her again, and then down to the board on the bet between them. She seemed to agree right away that people in general had an odd taste for things; whatever it may be, which of course told him something else about her. She shared his view point... was she the kind who sat back and observed everything from afar then? Not likely. Rather much like himself, she probably got involved, but did so just to observe things up close.
People were funny like that.
Either way it was enough for Aldric to understand a little more about her, but not prepare him for her next question. He arched his brow a little, looking up at her when she asked him about his own tastes. He smirked a bit, realizing almost right away the irony of the situation. Here he had just said everyone had odd tastes, and here his odd taste was that he didn't HAVE taste. Then again, he never did consider himself when he talked about everyone else.
"My taste is for work. Everything else is distraction." He commented, holding his fingers together still as she hadn't yet made a move.

Isabelea watched him look around the room, it was clear he was bored and she had to wonder what it was she could do to make him somewhat happy or at less content. It would be days maybe even weeks before he would be much better after all. When she asked him about his own taste she was rewarded with a slight smirk and a raise of his eyebrow before he answered. His taste was just work and nothing else it appeared which caused her to just smile and make her move. “So would I count as work right now or a distraction?”

Isabela sitting across from him smiled down at him and leaned forward a little, looking down to him a little before she was asking her next question. He arched his brow a little, more then just a little confused at the sudden advancement. Aldric had been here for work, yes; But Isabela had nothing to do with the job he had been press ganged into. She was there for him to recover from his injuries, which would in his mind of course explain her presence only as a distraction.
"Given the circumstances of my healing? I would say distraction." He commented, looking to her for a moment longer, slightly curious as to what she was trying at.

Isabela couldn’t help but laugh at his answered as well as the look on his face. “Well I haven’t been called that before, though I hope I’m a welcome distraction. Though I’m sure if you want to do some work as well there is always something to be done.” The ore and more she talked with him the more and more Isabela was finding out about him. He was smart but this man before her was clearly clueless. If she had to guess she would put money on last night was the first time he slept next to a woman that wasn’t his mother. Isabela couldn’t help but wonder for a moment if she should tease him a little or flirt with him just to see his reaction.

He continued to let his eyes settle on her for a moment, watching as she broke into a small laugh at the word he had used to describe her. Thinking on it for a moment, Aldric shrugged a little. "Welcome as they come." He answered her, knowing he would more then likely be dead if not for her intervention. How much more could one welcome such an event? There was a moment of silence held between them, Isabela still looking to him and he couldn't quite place what she was thinking. Aldric was many things, but 'mind reader' wasn't one of them; even if he did come close sometimes.
After a few seconds silence he cleared his throat. "Your move?" He suggested, tilting his head to the game board again.

Isabela looked down at the board for a moment then made a move before looking up again. “Tell me Aldric have you ever had a girlfriend?’ It was a straight forward question and one that many wouldn’t be too happy to answer; though in her experience many men were more than willing to tell her if they had any experience. Course they always claimed they had a lot more experience then what they really did have, so Isabela had learned to take what they said as half true when it came to it. She was almost willing to be half of what she owned however that he had not had girlfriend and even more that he had never really spent any time with one. Oh she had no doubt he knew about the female body from pictures but that was about it.

She made the move on the board as soon as he suggested it, and he glance down to see what had been done before making a move of his own within a moment or two just looking at it. His concentration only breaking when she asked the surprising question. The answer in short, was 'No' he hadn't ever had a girlfriend. That didn't mean he was so cold to it though. And as deep as it seemed Isabela wanted to dig into his back story (Aldric wasn't sure why) he had a feeling that such a simple answer wouldn't work for her.
At the same time however he wasn't sure how he could answer it in a way that wouldn't make her delve even further into it. Arching his brow for a moment, he nodded finally. "Relationships? Not really my area." He explained, glancing down at the board to make sure he was satisfied with the move he had just made. Looking back up to her finally he decided to make his return question. "Any reason why?" He asked, pulling his hand from the board then.
