Tahiri didn’t grab a drink as they passed by, she didn’t want anything to cloud her judgment right now; not that one drink would do that; not to mention she could use the fact she didn’t have a drink if she needed to later. She knew she was attractive and she knew there were a few men already here that where eyeing her slightly but she just ignored them. No she would use flattery and flirting later if she needed to in order to help advance Jacen more into everyone’s good graces. When an older woman approached Jacen, Tahiri took a step back to give the two of them some room and privacy. After all the woman had eyes only for Jacen at this moment and it wasn’t good to be hanging close to him; they were not a couple after all.
Once Jacen was done with the woman, agreeing to meet with her again, master and apprentice moved on to mingle around the room. Tahiri took moments to tell Jacen anything and everything she knew about the different people; giving him a step up when meeting them as well as allowing him to decide who would be worth this time tonight and who he could wait to meet another day. Tahiri was sure that after today she would be busy arranging meetings and other engagements for Jacen; there might even be a call for them to host their own social event; a welcome part of sorts.
Finally the two got the senator that Jacen had already had been in contact with; the very man who assistance had helped Tahiri get the invitations for this party. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Tahiri stated with a smile as she shook his hand, stepping away to let the two men speak but finding her path of escape blocked by a man close to her age. He wasn’t bad looking though it was clear he had had a bit to drink already tonight as he smiled down at her. The senator quickly introduce the young man as his eldest son; the one most likely to take his father’s place one day. Tahiri wasn’t even able to get out her own greeting when the young man was saying something about a dance, then pulling Tahiri by her hand to the dance floor. A part of her wanted to dig in her heals and wiggle out of his grasp but instead she went along, after all it wasn’t wise to insult the son of a man Jacen was trying to impress. Once on the dance floor however her resolve not to slap him was tested as he placed his hand not on the center of her back but slightly on her bottom, hidden from view because of the cape she wore down her shoulders.

When Tahiri was dragged by the rather drunk son of the senator, she played along; accepting the offer for the dance. Of course, Caedus watched this approvingly for a moment before turning back to Senator Pasliy for a conversation. It was always a good think to keep this family happy until he got what he wanted. Afterward, Caedus wouldn't jeopardise their good relationship, but he wouldn't do just anything to keep them happy either. For now they had to play along, so he could get the position he deserved.
He didn't look any offended or jealous of such actions. Instead he returned to his private conversation with the Senator. The older man sounded very hopeful for a youth being this forward to have a place in the senate. Also a good talker, Pasliy believed Jacen Solo was going to prove very good in this offered position.
As Tahiri busied herself with the Senator's son, Caedus met new people in strong positions by Pasliy's help. He made sure to leave good impressions, as he talked smooth and sipped from his drink. He made sure to stay away from the bad jokes he used to make, when he was a little kid. But the urge was always there. Maybe he didn't change as much as he made himself believe in.

Tahiri kept her face neutral as the two of them danced, the young man’s breath was over powering each time he talked; which of course was about himself. Tahiri only smiled and nodded, making a comment when it was needed but all the time wishing she could just get away. When the song end however the young man didn’t let her go, instead he pulled her closer to him and started to dance again. Once again Tahiri was forced to smile and bare everything, she knew how important it was to keep this man’s family happy and if this was what she had to do then she would do it.
Tahiri of course knew where Jacen was, just as she was sure he knew where she was. She wasn’t jealous of him as he flirted with other women, just like he wouldn’t be jealous of this senator’s son trying to get closer to Tahiri. After the last song however the senator son finally let her out of his grip, but only to lead her over to the bar where he insisted she needed to drink with him, she told him she should after all she was working and in fact she should return back to her boss. He didn’t seem to hear her and ordered her a drink away and started once again talking about himself, his plans to take over this father’s position and what he was going to do with it. Tahiri just listen, she didn’t want to spend more time with him but the more drinks he had the more willing he was to talk not just about himself but his father; then about other people. All of this information would prove useful one day she was sure, and so she kept ordering him more drinks; it also helped to keep his hands off her if he was busy with a drink in his hand.

Even after all the pointless chatter Caedus got himself involved with Senator Pasliy, he took notice of Tahiri not returning by his side yet. His brown eyes wandered around to find his apprentice. And when he found her, Caedus was rather displeased by the fact the drunk son busying her too much like this. But he could also notice the drunk son was very close to pass out from too much alcohol. He didn't even doubt Tahiri was using this as an opportunity to get more information. So Caedus took his time.
He kept chatting and meeting new people, as he slowly made his way toward the bar. When he reached at Tahiri's side, Caedus was alone. "If you don't mind, I need to borrow my assistant back." He said gently toward the drunk man. But all the reaction he could get was a few blinking of eyes and a dumb look. He was probably too gone to understand words.
"Good job, Tahiri." Caedus gave a small and charming smirk at her. Then he motioned her to follow him. The night was getting late, but it wasn't over yet. They still needed to leave more positive impression. And the more they were seen around, the more they would be remembered.
"I see you have your fun." He told his apprentice, as they headed randomly in the ballroom. The music never stopped, so were the drinks.

Tahiri couldn’t not help but feel happy that Jacen had come to her rescue, she had gotten all the information out of the young man who was now just barely standing up right. Of course his talk of other people lead to him talking more about himself then with what he wanted to do to Tahir, each time she had tried to move away he had grab her hand to keep her there. Of course she could handle him herself, he really was no matched for her; but she thought it was best not to hit him so instead she just made sure he had more to drink. With Jacen arrive she was able to excused herself with ease, the drunk man didn’t dare question Jacen; even if he was fully able to.
“I was just trying to keep his hands busy with something else then grabbing me.” Tahiri replied with a small smile back at Jacen when he told her she had done a good job. Of course she would impart with the new information that she had received from the son to Jacen, but this was not the place. Chances were they would stay up late tonight talking about what was learned in this one even and where to go from here. Having her fun was a lose term but Tahiri had to admit she was enjoying herself at this party, it had been such a long time since she had had a reason to dress up and go somewhere. Before it had been just ordering Jacen’ troops around and carrying out his orders; now however she was using her skills of perception and persuasion.
The two of them entered the ball room again, people where still dancing and were a little more relaxed with the alcohol flowing so freely. Even though it was getting late the party would go on for a while still, most likely until the break of dawn which meant that most the people here would not be able to get up and work until tomorrow afternoon; if at all. Of course with a party like this there was always the risk of someone getting heated and a fight or two breaking out; but for now everyone was content with talking about themselves, dancing and drinking.
Tahiri stood close to Jacen and pointed out a few people he might be interested in speaking with before they left for the evening. She was able to tell them some of their hobbies and a few of them what their favorite drink was; if he wanted to really make a good impression; of course she held back the juicy gossip about each person she heard just now that bit of information could wait.
