Elek Danova & Emmi Daneb((O.O.C --- this thread will move around, so i thought i would put it in the core worlds where i imagine a lot of the stops will be.)) Dantooine...Siri Tachi had recently taken Obi-Wan's newest Padawan off his hands for a while, leaving Obi-Wan with his other duties in the Jedi Order that he now found himself in. Still not totally recovered from his most recent duel with the Former Sith Lord Darth Maul, Obi-Wan was best being used for the time being to carry out other tasks that he was of course happy to work with. Most of his free time had been used in meditation or training in an attempt to get himself back on his feet fully. Knowing that Maul was out there made rest a little difficult for Obi-Wan, as he knew that Maul wouldn't rest until countless encounters got one of the two of them killed. Today wasn't the same though... Obi-Wan wasn't being asked to rest and meditate, and he didn't have the day to himself. Instead he had been tasked to aid a young Padawan by the name of Emmi Daneb as she was organizing a rather harmless field trip for some of the younglings in the Dantooine clans. Obi-Wan certainly didn't mind the task, and it had been since his duel on Delemede that he had been able to leave the Enclave on Dantooine. After a short time thinking about it he also realized that he had yet to visit Coruscant since he arrived in this timeline, and Coruscant was one of the first stops on the field trip. When he exited his small room he was totally ready for the field trip that lay ahead of him. He didn't need much to be ready in all honesty. He didn't have his own lightsaber any more as he had yet to re-build it after his duel with Darth Maul. Instead of his own lightsaber he packed Qui-Gon's onto his belt, and made sure he had everything else from rations to a small tool kit on his belt; and per usual with his utility belt everything was in order. He was pulling his cloak on over his person as Qui-Gon's old lightsaber slapped back and forth on his hip, and then he was setting off down the hall after he made sure his room was locked down. He was supposed to meet Emmi... right about... here... He turned the corner and stopped in the doorway with a warm smile on his face as he saw the younglings. Some of them sat on the floor playing together, others stood swinging their practice sabers at each other or practicing meditation or flinging small toys across the room with the force. Emmi was watching them, but she wasn't alone either as another boy about her age stood in the room telling tales to some of the younglings... and it seemed Emmi was listening so intently to his tale that none had noticed Obi-Wan's arrival. His arms were folded under the sleeves of his long cloak as he watched silently for a while, not wanting to get in the way and besides they had time before the transport was to leave. After a while it seemed the story was wrapping up and he cleared his throat, speaking up to announce his arrival (that had actually been several minutes ago.) "Sorry to interrupt..." He smiled a little as he waved to the young ones in the room. "Don't mind me."

Emmi had woken up early that day to get ready for the field trip. She had packed her supplies the night before but she checked and checked again to make sure that they had everything. The tour wasn't meant to be strenuous on either the Younglings or the Jedi supervising them. Still, Emmi made sure she had her first aid kit and a few other emergency supplies. Younglings were usually adorable and sweet but they also had a habit of injuring themselves and it would be up to Emmi to put them back together. That and she wanted to be ready for sharing the time with Elek. She was more than merely happy to have the older Padawan join them for this mission. She hoped that the outing would lift the young man's spirits. Ever since his Master had turned to the Dark Side and abandoned the Jedi Elek was understandably shaken. He had yet to find another Master and rarely left Dantooine. Emmi would have done anything to see him happy again, and she hoped that maybe this outing would help.
Her green eyes turned up to the chronometer on the wall. She needed to get going so that she could meet Elek on time. She pulled the backpack onto her back and left her room. Emmi made her way to the meeting place where Elek and an entire room of Younglings waited for her. There was no sign of Master Kenobi just yet, something Emmi didn't mind one bit. She slid into the room, appearing at Elek's side as he shared a story with the group gathered around him. A soft smile touched Emmi's lips as she watched how engorged the Younglings were with the tale. He really would make an excellent Master one day. Being by him made Emmi more relaxed and her attention drifted to him. So much so that she hadn't noticed Master Kenobi enter the room.
"Master Kenobi!" Emmi's cheeks flushed a light pink as she straightened, suddenly standing at attention. "Sorry to interrupt...Don't mind me." The Jedi's smile eased Emmi's nerves slightly. At least he wasn't upset with how distracted she had been. Four Younglings rushed up to Obi-Wan, each one grabbing onto one of his limbs as they chanted his name. This made Emmi laugh, though she tried to cover it up. "Hey!" she called in a tone loud enough to get their attention but not loud enough to be considered a yell. "Master Kenobi is not a jungle gym!" Slowly the children descended from Obi-Wan's body and attached themselves to Emmi's legs instead, causing her to laugh again. "I'm not either!" Her eyes glanced from Obi-Wan to Elek. "Are we ready?"

Elek was the first one in the training hall. Was it really a surprise to anyone though? He had barely left the temple (let alone the planet) in more time then he could keep track of. When he had been invited by Emmi so recently, he was rather excited and had barely been able to contain himself at the time. When he knew that the time was set, it could be expected then that he would be so excited about it that he would arrive early. He had packed a back for himself full of medical supplies he would need in case of emergency, and it contained survival gear as well. It was enough for a few days at worst case scenario, and remained small enough that he didn't have to worry about it weighing him down too much or being in the way.
He was the first one to arrive with the Younglings who were still half asleep, but he helped them get around all the same. Some of them went to training, but he decided to start telling a few small stories of his few adventures with his Master. He tried to keep the stories centered around himself; not to hog the attention, rather, because he couldn't bear talking about his Master in the stories to the little ones. Having their undivided attention he was smiling as eventually his story began to take speed and shape. By the end of it, Emmi had joined him, and he smiled at her a little before Obi-Wan arrived too after a moment, taking the attention away from himself.
Elek sighed with relief a little. His story had CERTAINLY woken the younglings up, but he was also running out of stories to tell (after just one or two sadly) and muttered under his breath. "Just as well... I was going to start boring them soon." He commented, giving himself a stifled laugh, watching the Younglings first jump on Kenobi, and then back on Emmi.
When she asked if everyone was ready, Elek nodded a little with a smile. "I've got everything i need."

Bored.
Apparently that's what Anakin Skywalker was according to his loving wife, when he had tried to explain how restless and off center he felt. He had tried to justify it as just acclimatizing himself to the situation they had found themselves in, but Padme had been very insistant in telling him it was just boredom he was expriencing. Not that getting to actually live with his wife was boring of course, far from it. But she had once again launched herself into a political career, though admittedly a less time consuming one, which meant Anakin was largely alone for hours on end. Having before had a particularly active and adventurous lifestyle, Anakin didn't really know what to do with himself in this time of peace. The council had yet to meet with him and Obi-Wan had already strictly warned him off tinkering and upgrading the machines around him that practically screamed for his attention. Fixing sure, upgrading, strictly off limits. He had tried practising his kata's and meditating but even that could only hold his interest for a short time. He had spent a while each day visiting the healer's wing to see his former master and check on his progress - taking a little bit of pleasure in teasing Obi-Wan when he found out the master had lost his sabre. He'd had THAT lecture so many times it was burned word for word in his memory.
All joking had ceased however when Obi-Wan finally had revealed who had made it through the time slip also, and inflicted such wounds. An extremely unwelcome ghost from the past that clearly was far from letting his past defeat go. Darth Maul....and he was most definitly out for more than just blood. Anakin had cursed at the fact he had been pulled through the slip too late to be at his Master's side, but he was determined that while he was here, Mail wouldn't get a chance to touch Obi-Wan again let alone inflict such injuries. He had never met the sith that had taken the life of Qui-Gon Jinn, never faced him in battle, but he was confident as always that he wouldn't be a problem to take care of. Not with Obi-Wan at his side, as a team. Anakin would be more than happy to help his former master deal with the scum that had taken the life of someone so important to them both - though of course for very different reasons. The problem was, Obi-Wan didn't seem as keen to let Anakin get involved. He wouldn't say why but if Anakin didn't know better, he would suggest it was because Obi-Wan wanted to personally settle the score. He could understand that of course, but based on the state Obi-Wan had gotten into when facing Maul alone, it was hardly something Anakin considered a good idea.
The feeling only compounded when he overheard Obi-Wan and the healer, whose name he now knew as Emmi, discussing a light mission Obi-Wan could run on after his healing. Babysitting younglings on an outing. Hardly taxing stuff, and not really anything to be overally concerned about - which at first Anakin was not. Babysitting younglings was hardly his idea of fun, and he was more than happy to let his former master take care of those duties. That was, if that niggling itch in the back of his mind would have let up. The one that warned him when something wasn't quite right, that had gotten stronger in its clarity since arriving on this planet. As days went past, Anakin couldn't shake it and he often tried to meditate to find out why to no success. Padme joked that he was just jealous Obi-Wan was going on missions with other people...in fact that he was going on missions at all while Anakin was waiting for his meeting with the council. Looking at it, perhaps he was...after all for the longest time Obi-Wan had been his only companion - they were a legendary team. What right did anyone have to disrupt that...leaving Anakin alone...again. But he knew really there was more than that...and he'd long ago abandoned the idea of ignoring his gut feelings.
So, one annoyingly early morning, Anakin made his way to where he knew the little group was meeting...jogging there hurriedly because once again waking up in bed next to Padme had been entirely too distracting. He rounded the corner and stopped outside the doorway, catching his breath for the moment before stepping quietly into the room and giving a small smile as he saw Obi-Wan, followed by Emmi, used as a climbing frame. He gave a deep, throaty chuckle and stepped forwards a little with his arms folded inside the sleeves of his long Jedi Cloak.
"Would you mind one more tagging along?" he asked to no-one in particular, just waiting for an answer.

Obi-Wan was only standing there for a second after he made himself known before all eyes were on him. He hadn't expected such a reaction, and he certainly hadn't expected it the moment he spoke. This was Emmi and Elek's trip, not his. If anything he was shocked that his name had gotten around so quickly; hearing a couple of the children call it out to him. Within another moment they were rushing at him, and he had thought they would gather around him like they did with Elek, but to his surprise, as many as could fit on his legs were. It was enough to through him off balance, but with so much added weight to his legs he didn't topple over. He gave a pleading look upwards to the two Padawan's who had arranged all of this, but said nothing for a moment before finally they Younglings pulled away from his legs and then returned to Emmi; the younger of the two Padawan's, in order to do the same.
Despite the surprise though Obi-Wan couldn't help the smile that marked his features. Before she had even gotten the children off of her, she was asking if everything was ready, and Elek responded with his own answer. Obi-Wan was hardly surprised the boy was ready for this... not with what his friend had informed him of. The poor child hadn't been able to leave the temple in some time now, and he could only imagine the feeling he had right now. Obi-Wan had once faced similar odds... feeling as though no one would accept him as a Padawan. Obi-Wan had at first been sent away... but it had all worked out in the end for him; and he had a feeling it would for the boy too... one way or another.
The Children thought on the question for a moment, but then dashed around the room to look for their own items, and Obi-Wan nodded in kind as he took a step further into the training room. He opened his mouth to say something about having everything he needed, but then stopped just before he heard the voice behind him. Turning he saw Anakin, his former apprentice asking to come along. It seemed this trip was already destined to be full of surprises. First the Children's overly warm welcome, and now Anakin actually asking to come on the simple mission? Keeping his composure though he nodded a little and smiled to his friend. "I don't see why not..." He answered him after a moment, thinking for a moment about the shuttle and how much room they had. "We've got room for plenty." He eventually reasoned with a nod, turning a little to see the man who had been through a lot recently; as had every victim of the time slip. Aside from Anakin's initial panic in the Medical wing when Obi-Wan had recently faced off with Maul though, Anakin was taking it far better then Obi-Wan had anticipated. And he hoped that perhaps the change from the time if restless War that they came from would be a good change for Anakin; even if only for a temporary time. It might show Anakin a few things Obi-Wan had never been able to teach in their own time...
Perhaps... this was the first lesson for them all.

The arrival of Anakin Skywalker was a little surprising, though not unwelcome. Emmi had only come across the man a few times. Firstly when he arrived through the time slip and then again while she was treating Obi-Wan. That was to say, she didn't know the man well. She had only seen him under unusually stressful circumstances. He hadn't seemed like the child care type, yet here he was. Emmi's green eyes turned to Obi-Wan, the only person on this mission who knew the man at all. Without much hesitation he invited Master Skywalker to join. If Master Kenobi agreed for him to come along, then it was probably a fine idea. A smile touched the young woman's lips as she glanced at the newcomer. "Glad to have you join us, Master Skywalker," Emmi's gentle voice matched her smile. "If we are all ready perhaps we should get going." The Younglings that had been using her as a climbing toy quickly dropped and scampered off to grab their packs. The young woman was relived to have the extra weight off of her arms and legs. Still, she smiled at their backs and chuckled.
Emmi slung the pack onto her back and glanced over at the other chaperones. They all seemed to jump on a ship and leave that very moment. The Younglings were a bit of a different story. Most of the older ones were ready but some of the slightly younger ones didn't seem to be quite ready to go. Quickly, she stepped forward and knelt before a group of them and began to help them with their packs. "If you're ready please wait with Elek," she pointed to the older padawan. "He'll start taking you to the transport. Stay with him, please." Those who were ready scampered off to Elek, talking amongst themselves as they did so. She stole one more glance at Elek, her eyes lingering on him a little longer than than what would be expected of a check up. Once she realized, though, she quickly turned away and continues to help the rest of the students with their bags as well as counting then recounting the students that were in their charge. They hadn't lost anyone. Not yet and hopefully they wouldn't lose anyone on this trip at all.

Elek had been standing back by himself as he watched everything unfold. The Younglings jumping on Obi-Wan, then on Emmi, the arrival of the New Jedi that he had never seen before in his life. He was just watching as everyone was talking among themselves and eventually it was decided that it was time to get going; apparently a little early when Elek looked to the chrono. Some of the younglings dashed about, grabbing their things in a relatively organized manner, while the other half of the students began assembling their bags fresh.
The boy was quick to step to their aid, beginning to help put the bags together until Emmi eventually explained that the ready younglings should follow him to the ship... the older Jedi already leading away from them. Elek looked between Emmi and the younglings; both prepared and scrambling before he nodded and got back up to his feet, walking over to the young children who were ready to leave and began leading them to the hanger quietly, glancing back to make sure everything was okay even though he had just been there himself.
Before long they were leaving the training area and heading into the adjoining section with the hangers, the small group of Younglings following him up the loading ramp of the shuttle-buss and let them find their seats. Elek remained close to the younlings, letting the others talk among themselves while he listened in to some of the conversations with interest to some of the youngest ones.

Post by Luke Skywalker on Jun 4, 2015 18:14:49 GMT -8
Luke could be seen heading towards the library along side his version of R2-D2 ready to devour a large amount of knowledge that was lost to the galaxy in his time. Ever since the young Jedi got here, he was learning as much as he could about the order of old hoping to use that knowledge if he were to return to his own time and start up the Jedi Order from scratch. A feat that he knew would require a lot of effort, especially if he wanted to ensure that another Darth Vader didn't rise from their ranks and wreak havoc across the galaxy. As he walked, he heard a couple of Jedi Knights near by talking about accompanying a field trip of younglings in order to observe and possibly choose one of them to be their next padawan. His little companion would whistle and beep a suggestion to join the group since all he has been doing here since he arrived in this time period was training, studying and going on mission. Because of this, the droid told Luke in his binary language that this trip would help him relax. "I guess your right R2, I could use a break" said Luke figuring that the little R2 unit was right. The young Skywalker would then follow these Jedi towards hanger hoping that this trip would get his mind off of being the last of the Jedi, even if it's for a bit.
When he and the other Jedi Knights entered the hanger, they entered the ship with Artoo following close behind Luke and once they got in and took their seat, Luke and the others watched as the the older younglings began to enter being led by the padawan known as Elek. As they took their seats, Luke noticed that they were pointing at him and his R2 unit as they stuck out like a sore thumb with Luke being in his black pants and high collared shirt and R2-D2 being an advanced astromech droid from the future. The droid would question as to why they are looking at them like by beeping and whistling and Luke said "They probably haven't encountered too many people or droids from the future"
Luke would then take notice that it appeared that there was no Jedi Master or even knight that appeared in charge, so he lightly tapped on Elek's arm as he walked and listened in to the conversations that the younglings were having and asked "Excuse me, but can you tell me who is in charge of this trip?"
