ALEX STARKOS
just your friendly neighborhood clone
Full Name: Alex Starkos (Subject #L263)
Gender: Female
Species: Human Clone
Age: 1 (Physically 20, emotionally 16, and mentally… about 6)
Faction: Neutral
Class: Clone
Rank: N/A
Face Claim: Erica Durance
OC or Canon: Original (Well not really since she’s a clone)
APPEARANCE
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 150
Eyes: Dark Green
Hair: Dark Blonde (Naturally brown)
Overall Appearance: Alex's mind and body have not grown at the same pace due to the technology used to speed up her growing process. She physically has the body of someone in their possible late teens or early twenties. Obviously, being a clone, she looks exactly like her template. She stands at 5’8”, is built athletically, and tends to keep looking at herself in the mirror--or any other reflective surface-- as if hoping to see a different face every time she does. The face she currently has (she’s patiently waiting for it to change) has dark green eyes and a wide jaw with a cleft in her chin, and she keeps complaining about her nose which is a little too prominent for her liking. Alex’s hair is naturally a (rather dull in her opinion) mousy brown color and long, but in an attempt to look different than Jaimie she dyes it dark blonde and wears it a little shorter as well as with different bangs.
Alex stands a little shorter than her actual height because as she walks with a slouch at times, and she’s not physically as strong as Jaimie. Her clothing choice is rather limited, as she doesn't actually own much yet so she usually borrows Jaimie’s things which are somewhat tomboyish in appearance. She wears them quite well, although she doesn't realize she manages to attract attention.
PERSONALITY
On first impression, Alex is a lot like Jaimie with her eternal commentary and overly energetic but somewhat ignorant personality. She talks in her sleep, she loves rock music, and she’s quickly learning how “sarcasm” works. However, unlike her template, she’s a lot more naive of things and tends to treat the world as a fascinating, brand new playground. She has to try anything that looks fun, and tends to get distracted by literally everything. She’s especially mesmerized by bright and colorful things, and quite often acts like a young child. Her mind has not matured enough to reason things out, and she tends to react to situations emotionally rather than based on logic.
Alex is an incredibly fast learner, though she tends to forget things that don't interest her (her short attention span generally means everything is forgotten). Alex usually first strikes people as a little odd, as she's built and sounds like an adult but quite often acts likes a young child, as well as having her template's quirkiness. Despite that, she's incredibly open and sincere to everyone she meets which makes her very likable, especially with her innocent charm and friendly demeanor. However, her innocence also leaves her susceptible to manipulation and she could easily be taken advantage of--and probably wouldn't even realize it.
Morally, Alex is very solid and rather loyal to the Jedi Code as she learned it from Dr. Starkos. The problem is, Alex doesn't actually understand the code. She acts on her passions all the time, unaware it's not what she's supposed to be doing, and can sometimes get confused.
BACKGROUND
Planet Origin: Unknown
Starting Planet: N/A
Era Origin: The Rebellion Era
History:
During the Rise of The Empire, when all Jedi had been wiped out, it seemed Force Powers were no longer going to be used. However, one Imperial scientist by the name of Jericho Starkos was curious to see if he could make his clones force sensitive. While almost every time it failed, while trying to clone one of the Empire's Stormtroopers it seemed to succeed. The trooper in question, a young recruit by the name of Jaimie Evanlyn, wasn't particularly extraordinary, but the theory was she had some midi-chlorines that multiplied when cloned. She wasn't the only one who's DNA was used, but after around three months three clones still alive. One of them was Evanlyn's.
Out of curiosity, Dr. Starkos created several more force sensitive clones and started to train them all. Enhanced growth and a lot of pushing had them all trained up and fully grown only a few months later. Before he had a chance to do much more though, every single one of them overloaded, went crazy, and their systems promptly shut down and ended in death. Starkos would not pick up this project up again for a few more years, in which he had other experiments and projects to work on. Shortly after the Death Star was destroyed, however, he did look into it again. With the rumor of Jedi returning, Starkos thought that the Empire having an army of Force Sensitives under their control would be useful--neither Darth Vader nor the Emperor were aware of this project, though, and Starkos did it of his own decision and in secret.
In addition to the other force sensitives in the army, Jaimie Evanlyn's DNA was once more used to create a clone. This time, Starkos did not rush the training. They physically grew at the same increased speed as before, but the mental training was not forced on them to keep them stable. The midi-chlorians in these clones' systems multiplied daily until they had an above average amount even for a Jedi or Sith, and grew more powerful over time. Starkos realized he may have just made the perfect soldier...
Six months passed, and the majority of the clones flourished over that time. They were still mentally undeveloped, but had been taught basic skills like reading and mathematics. They were kept in isolation from one another and were unaware there were others. Upon reaching the six month mark, Starkos decided to try and give the clones more challenges. One of them, Starkos's favorite, died right away and proved to be not as strong as the doctor had thought. Like the first experiment, the others slowly died too. Only one survived, Subject L263, the clone of Jaimie Evanlyn. Her system was the most adapable, the only one capable of handling the massive increase of midi-chlorians. She nearly died, and Starkos barely managed to stabilize her, but he succeeded and she survived--and with an incredibly high midi-chlorian count.
He would keep his one surviving subject a secret, isolated and locked up in a small hidden lab. Once she had stabilized, Starkos was ready to start training her in other things, like force use. However, since he himself was not force sensitive he needed an outside source. Going through locked up Imperial artifacts he found an old Jedi holocron. He figured he could use the knowledge on force use but avoid the Jedi teachings themselves while training the girl. It backfired though, as he slowly found himself growing more interested in the Jedi Code itself. He separated himself from the Empire, growing more distant from their laws as he trained the clone through the holocron. She was a quick learner and very powerful in the Force. Starkos found himself growing attached to the clone, seeing her more as a person and less like an experiment. He gave her a name, calling her "Alex," after a daughter of his that had died.
When she reached the age of a year, Alex had the full figure of a young woman, but her mind was still childish in so many ways. Starkos did not think she was ready to face out into the world yet, especially with her raw potential for power and susceptibility to manipulation. However, he didn't really have a choice in the matter. The Imperials had caught on to what he was doing. His laboratory was invaded by the Imperials. Realizing he had been caught, he put Alex in stasis mode in her pod while the lab was invaded and Starkos was captured. Before the lab had a chance to be looted and destroyed, though, a whole chuck of it just vanished.
It just drifted space, arriving in a different time, a different place, and Alex lying dormant in her incubation pod...
