The sound of Liam's labored breath echoed loudly inside his Stormtrooper helmet. His legs carried him as fast as they could manage over the uneven Endor terrain. Behind him he could hear was the faint sound of clunky armored feet pounding against the mossy floor of the moon. While Liam couldn't see or hear them, he was quite sure an entire army of knee high Ewoks were chasing them with spears. The image of the terrifying creatures stabbing him comrades repeatedly to death flashed into his mind. Once again he picked up his speed and shouted into the radio in his helmet. "Run faster! They're going to kill us!" The man's sense of self preservation over road his loyalty to his fellow Stormtroopers as he neared what appeared to be a ledge. He skidded to a stop once he realized that the leap to the other side was not something he was capable of. Luckily, he was able to stop just short of the ledge that would have lead to his potential death. "Phew." The sigh of relief was too early as one after the other, the other Stormtroopers had slammed into him, pushing him off the ledge. The others quickly followed, knocking the one in front of them over the ledge.
Liam said his farewells, first to his mother, and then to his favorite fictional characters. He then mentally apologized to whoever it was that would have to look through his personal affects. He also prayed that whatever happened after death was painless and full of good food. The impact he was expecting never came, though. Instead he found himself lying face up in a wooded area with only a bruised backside to show for it. "Oh...that wasn't that--" he was cut off as one by one the other Stormtroopers rained down on him from some unknown place in the sky. Now, crushed under their weight he groaned. "Get off of me!" Slowly the men struggled to get off of each other, rubbing their sore spots. Strangely enough, they weren't where Liam thought they should be. Yes, they were in a wooded area but it wasn't the same kind of trees they had seen on Endor and there was no ledge. Liam took everything in through his visor, not sure what to make of their surroundings. His eyes stopped when he spotted what looked like a clearing up ahead. While it was a ways a way he could tell that there was some kind of building up ahead. Probably a base, a base that would be well protected from the Ewoks. Liam shivered at the thought and stepped towards the clearing. "Yo, Cliff, what do you think that is?" Liam pointed through the trees.

It had taken Cliff a while to un der stand why Liam and the rest of the troop went fleeing into the forest. Stuck in the group, he quickly lost the opportunity to heroically fight off the little teddy bear monsters called Ewoks. Amidst the screaming and running, Cliff finally understood Liam's brilliant plan to make all this noise and scare away all the other Ewoks in the vicinity. When Liam came to a stop, Cliff didn't, accidentally pushing everyone over the edge of a precipice. Cliff yelled out, but fortunately Liam was there to break his fall.
What a pal.
Liam grunted as Cliff roiled off and climbed to his feet. "Thanks man!" He said, dusting himself off. He looked over the pile of rifles everyone had dropped, wondering which of the identical weapons was his. After a quick eenie meenie he settled on the one on the left, lifting it up and shouldering it. "Hmm, I think we're lost," Cliff informed one of his comerades. Liam's voice called his attention, and he hopped over the groaning Stormtroopers to his friend.
"I think... that looks like a fortress. We should conquer it, make sure we own all the tactical points on Endor." Cliff's tactical genius was, as always, flawed and intelligent at the same time.
In this case, he rather forgot whoever was in the building had the current tactical advantage.
"Men! Line up!" Cliff announced. He was ignored for the most part, aside from a " sod it" and "shut up, Allen," from his fellows.

Cliff appeared at his side, squinting in the direction of the structure. From what Liam could tell it wasn't very big. There was a tall fence built into the wall of the structure. He wasn't sure what was beyond the wall or what it could possibly be guarding. According to the information meeting there wasn't supposed to be anything like this on Endor. Maybe the rebels had made their own base? If that was the case then why hadn't anyone known about it? Suddenly going over to it was looking like too much work. Instantly, Liam regretted pointing it out to Cliff as he had a nasty habit of-- "I think... that looks like a fortress. We should conquer it, make sure we own all the tactical points on Endor." --coming up with plans. Damn it. A groan of protest erupted from the other stormtroopers. "Who died and made him commanding officer?" Liam heard through his helmet. The answer to that was unknown. For some reason Cliff was given or fell into leadership roles despite the fact that he consistently messed up the missions. "I dunno, Cliff why don't we just--" but before he could finish the suggestion of inaction Cliff was already through the trees and making his way towards the structure. Reluctantly the other troopers followed Cliff towards the structure.
Surprisingly, there was no one guarding the fortress. It felt like a trap, something that the stormtroopers were far too accustom to. Liam gripped his blaster, swinging it as he looked around for whatever was gonna attack them next. The group of stormtroopers reached the doors of the fortress with no incident. Together they stood outside of the doors, not entirely sure what to do. "What now?" Liam asked, staring up at the tall doors. There was a silence before one of the other troopers spoke. "Should we just knock or something?" "That's a stupid idea!" Liam shouted but after another moment of silence he knocked on the door. "Open up!" There was no answer. Liam glanced around and casually pushed the gate open. He held his blaster ready again, rushing in and looking around for a foe but there was none. Behind the gate was a field full of nerfs with a large barn on the far end. "What the?!? Nerfs? Are there even nerfs on Endor?"

She was way behind the rest of her squad. What happened to no man get's left behind?! She would definitely be taking this up with their superiors after they made it out of this. And she would have to write some sort of letter of apology to the original owner of this armor for having damaged the voice filter in the mask portion of the armor... although in her defense that was the Ewok's fault. When she had been hit with the arrow the helmet just flew off her head, so she was fine, but after she put it back on it just didn't sound the same to her ears; she couldn't put her finger on it of course, but it just sounded deeper now.
By this time she had caught up enough that she could see the rest of the squad all jumping off the edge of the canyon, one by one they all leaped down and out of her sight. The Ewoks were still following her, but after she had taken her helmet off for the short time she had managed to make friendly with them, (at least that's what she thought) and she now prided herself on being an expert speaker of Ewokese; and apparently she was really good at being diplomatic too. So now the Ewoks all followed her to the edge of the pit while she cautiously leaned over the edge and peered down into it. "Well if everyone else jumped in, it must be safe..." She reasoned, even though she wasn't able to see the bottom of the rip in the ground, or any indication the rest of the troopers survived or went anywhere.
Needing no other prompting of herself she just jumped in, pulling her legs in a odd looking cannonball shape that was actually hard to keep with her armor the way it was. "TALLY HO!" She called out in mid air, and then suddenly everything around her shifted and changed. Before she knew what had happened she was landing bottom first on the ground with a heavy and loud "THUMP", her armor seeming to rattle around outside of her before she was moving to stand up with a groan. "Owwy!" She muttered, one hand clutching her blaster and the other hand going to rub her backside; an image that looked rather comical the way she was blundering around in her armor.
Before long she was looking upwards, not sure where the canyon walls that she had just jumped off of had gone. "Man that must be really tall... i can't see them anywhere up there." She commented, wondering then where the Ewoks had gone off to. Before long though she saw one, then two, then four... eight... all of the Ewoks that had originally been following her all began pouring out of the air and plopping down in random places all around her. Miraculously not a single one of the Ewoks landed on her though and she quickly did a head count of them all. There was Simon, the Ewok who had gotten one of their blasters. And then Eeket, one of her favorites. "C'mon guys, lets go fine the rest of the troop!" She called, beginning to head out of the small forested area, knocking one of the trees as she passed it.
She clunked around clumsily towards the clearing, banging her shoulder against different tree trunks and hitting her head on a low hanging branch, but she didn't notice it through the helmet and armor. The Ewoks all followed like perfect little soldiers, all curious about where they had wandered off to. It was as they came out of the the wooded area that she noticed the structure, and pointed to it. "Maybe they went there!" She announced before she continued onward in a march with the Ewoks, beginning to whistle the Imperial March as she lead the way with the Ewoks all following her.
Eventually she was growing close enough to the base that she hoped she could call out and get everyone's attention. "HEY GUYS!? YA HOME? YOU LEFT SOMEONE BEHIND!" She called out, waving her hands above her head to try and get someone's attention.

Cliff was oblivious to the grumbling as he started down the slope, brushing dirt, leaves and twigs off his now earth-stained white armor as he did. "Hey... weren't there five of us?" someone said. Cliff turned to look, carefully counting the heads.
"There are five of us," he said, then continued on toward the structure. He could hear Liam and the others grumbling, though Liam was the most vocal about it. It was hot in this forest. Much hotter than Endor. Weren't these suits supposed to have air conditioning? As they got closer, Cliff lifted up his gun, peering around for any hostile targets.
"Where is everyone?" he wondered. Like Liam (and probably the rest of the squad) he suspected it may be a trap. His eyes narrowed as he looked around warily. Narrowing his eyes didn't make it any easier to see through the helmet, though, so he stopped narrowing them and continued to look around normally. Despite his keen eye (the one he claimed to possess), he didn't spot anything dangerous. "Spread out and look around," he ordered, pulling his rifle into position. He was completely ignored as the squad. Instead, they huddled together and approached the big doors.
"What now?" That was Liam.
"Should we just knock or something?"
Liam was also quick to dismiss that idea. "We break the door down. On the count of three," said Cliff, once more taking control of the situation. "One... two... THREE!" Cliff charged forward and slammed into the door. The other three troopers just stood there patiently, watching as Cliff stumbled back as sparks danced in his vision. "Ow." Her rubbed the back of his head (that was wearing a helmet) and looked at the others. "I thought we agreed to do it together."
There was a long moment of silence, and Liam stepped up and knocked on the door. When no one answered, Cliff watched as Liam cautiously used the handle to push the gate open and step inside. The others were in no rush to follow, and Cliff found himself pushed to the front of the group behind his friend. He leaped in behind Liam, looking around wildly for a Rebel to shoot--
"What the?!? Nerfs? Are there even nerfs on Endor?"
"Careful, it's a trick," Cliff said. "They're probably hiding behind the nerfs... or turned into the nerfs." He frowned. That was strange. What kind of magic was at work? The others piled in and began to construct a barricade around the fence to keep any Rebels out but was even to break down should they need to escape while Liam and Cliff studied the nerfs.
"I don't like this, Liam," Cliff said.
"HEY GUYS!? YA HOME? YOU LEFT SOMEONE BEHIND!"
Cliff yelped at the sudden noise and whirled around. "What--"
"Hey, isn't that Evanlyn?" someone said.
"I knew we were missing someone," was another muttered comment.
"Who left him behind?" Cliff said accusingly. No one said anything, but some hanged their heads shamefully. "Come on, Grell, let's go let him in." He grabbed Liam's arm and the two scrambled over the partially-built barricade. Cliff waved his hands back at the somewhat distance figure. "We're over here--LOOK OUT! EWOKS!" he had barely spotted the small group trailing behind Jaimie, but he was glad he had in time. Immediately, he yanked out his rifle and fired wildly. Bolts pinged off the trees and somehow the building behind them too.

Liam continued to stare at the herd of nerfs who seemed terribly disinterested in the four stormtroopers. The other two troopers walked forward and began to pester one of the nerfs. Liam blinked comically under his mask until Cliff spoke up. "Careful, it's a trick. They're probably hiding behind the nerfs... or turned into the nerfs." One of the troopers looked alarmed and pointed its blaster at the nerf. "Cliff, shut up that's stupid!" Liam groaned. "There's no way the Rebels have that kind of technology." "Should I shoot the Rebel Scum, sir?" the trooper asked his voice shaking in fear. "Oh for-- NO! Do not shoot that nerf, rookie!" Liam shouted. "I don't like this, Liam." Liam nodded, agreeing with Cliff. There was definitely something weird going on. Yeah, a herd of nerfs was weird all on its own but something nagged at him. Something was wrong. He lazily looked around but saw nothing wrong. He was too lazy to look beyond the structure or the nerfs. They could send the rookie, yeah there as an idea. "We could send the rookie out to patrol the area," Liam suggested. His suggestion went unnoticed since they were soon visited by the missing member of their squad. Or at least, the ones that hadn't been murdered by Ewoks. Liam had noticed that Evanlyn was missing but had figured that she had perished at the hands of the ravenous Ewoks and thier spears. He shuddered at the thought. Back on the battlefield it had been every man for himself. Liam wasn't a hero and he certainly wasn't interested in becoming one for Evanlyn's sake. Hell, Cliff barely made that list in Liam's book. He followed Cliff in peeking over their barricade. It was then he saw the most horrific sight. Evanlyn followed by a hoard of Ewoks. Liam let out a girlish scream. Flashbacks of the battle on Endor flashed into him mind. He pulled out his blaster and opened fire on the Ewoks. He was aiming for them but they all seemed to miss. He wasn't overly concerned about if he hit a member of his squad or not. It was all for the sake of the Empire. "Rookie! Get over here and help us kill these monsters!" Liam shouted back behind him. "But...I thought you said to be on patrol?" the rookie asked. The other trooper looked up as well, tilting his head and added, "Yeah, what about the Rebel Scum?" "Forget that! Get up here and help us!"

She was still a couple hundred feet away from the small fort, waving her hands tirelessly before someone finally noticed her running at full force (which was more like a half speed lumber in the Stormtrooper armor she was wearing). She couldn't tell who it was at the top of the fort that had spotted her, but he had, and she could let her arms drop down now, panting heavily behind the armor as she continued to press forward towards the fort. When she dropped her arms, the gun slipped from her hand, causing her to stop and back up traffic on all of the Ewoks that were following her in their otherwise orderly march.
Jaimie then picked up her blaster after a couple of steps back tracking, and then stood back up again, to see that the first trooper at the top of the tower was now joined with another one who was rather trigger happy. Jumping and eyes wide (not that you could tell through the armor's mask) she scrambled in any direction but straight, eventually diving to the ground to land behind a large enough rock to cover her and her squad of Ewoks. She fell short of the Rock bu about 4 feet and had to wiggle like a worm over the rest of the way to it before hiding behind it and clutching her head in the fetal position.
"GUYS! IT'S ME! STOP SHOOTING!" She said, her voice picking up a more demanding tone then anything else as if she was in charge of the group (which in her mind wasn't far off), after a second she shot up over the rock and added. "THAT'S AN ORDER!" She called, trying to sound demanding as she strutted (scrambled) out from behind the rock, raised her blaster and shot right at one of the stormtroopers who had opened fire on her. She of course missed and hit the wall below him by about 8 feet, but it made her point.

Cliff heard Jaimie's shouts over the sound of open fire, and gestured for his men to stop shooting. They didn't. So Cliff tried to signal them again. "STOP SHOOTING ALREADY."
"Sorry, sir, I thought you said we should open fire on the Rebel Scum," the rookie said sheepishly.
"Then I signalled you to stop. Does no one remember the signal for stop? It was in the pamphlet on my signals I gave out," said Cliff. It hadn't even been that long. Only thirty pages to memorize. But all he got were three blank Stormtrooper stares. "Anyone? No?"
...
Cliff gave up. "Where's Cheese?"
Another beat of silence.
Cliff sighed, and peered cautiously over the barricade. "Watch out for those Ewoks, Private!" he called to Evanlyn. In a rather sad attempt at heroics, Cliff clumsily clambered over the barricade. He tripped in his bulky armor and landed face first in the dirt. There was still a long moment of solemn silence. No one was moving. After he scrambled to his feet, he cautiously approached Jaimie's hiding place, ready to defend him from the monstrous little teddy bears. They were kind of cute, he had to admit. Or had been, until they tried to kill him. Now they were part of the Rebel Scum. Cliff liked kitties better anyway.
"Private?" he said, carefully, peering around the rocks.
Eight Ewoks were crouched next to Jaimie, "nub nub"-ing at each other and looking at him curiously.
And then a monkey landed on his head.

Liam kept firing even after Cliff had signaled them to stop. He hated the Ewoks. Their blank, souless black eyes were the epitome of evil. The thought of their evil faces sent a shier down his spine. Evanlyn was lost and there was no way to save her. Finally, Liam stopped firing once he yelled at the rookie. Why were they stopping? Didn't he know how dangerous those monsters were? As Cliff climbed over the wall of the fort and then the barricade Liam rushed forward in an attempt to save his friend. He was slow, of course, and was unable to reach him. Instead out he let out a drawn out and dramatic...
"NOOOOOOOOOoooooo!" His armored hand reached out into thin air. The rookie rushed to his side, holding Liam around the middle. "He's gone, Grell...he's gone," the rookie sounded mournful. Liam clung to the rookie, looking up at the young man with sadness etched into his helmet. He draped himself in the rookie's arms much in the way many of the tragic heroines in his romance novels had in the arms of their lovers. Liam's arm draped over his black eye holes. They had been friends, such dear friends since the first day of training. All of that would be snuffed out at the hands of the kriffing Ewoks. Cliff's life would be avenged! Then the image of the Ewoks savagely killing his squad came to his mind's eye and all desire to confront them vanished. Only one thing broke the dramatic scene.
"Umm, guys...he's alive," the other trooper said, who was staring over the wall at the other dramatic scene unfolding below. Liam scrambled out of the rookie's arms and pushed the other soldier out of the way. "Wait...what?" he squinted to look through his armor's eye holes to see what the other soldier was talking about. He was right! Cliff was alive. That meant there was hope! "Should we fire?" the rookie asked, readying his blaster. "No! Cliff's down there!" Liam said, exasperated. "Don't be dramatic, rookie." His attention turned back to Cliff and the gaggle of Ewoks not far from Evanlyn.

It seemed to Jaimie like her theatrics got some response from the rest of the troopers as the blaster bolt hit the wall and soon after the troopers; (all but one) held fire. One of the troopers climbed over the make shift barricades and approached her while she went back behind the rock to converse with her Ewok minions, in order to explain that she had a friend on the way and that they would soon be part of the Empire, working along side her. Of course all she got was a few sideways glances and a bunch of chat from the Ewoks, one to another as they tried to determine what they were doing, where they were, why the trees were different, and why Jaimie insisted on hiding under her bucket hat that changed her voice.
Believing that she had conveyed her message to the Ewok underlings she nodded to them and gave a salute, which was met and returned with a nub nub. By the time she was finished, Cliff, the squad leader was showing up behind her, followed by Cheese who had shown up from no where. "Aww there's my boy." He voice came as a gruff and mechanical sounding man as she poke Cheese in the belly and then gave him one of her rations.
After a second she looked back to Cliff; And you! she gave him an over due (but harmless due to his armor) slap to his chest. She instantly regretted it under her gloved hand, but tried not to make more then a slight grunt at the pain. "What are you doing shooting at me!?" She asked with a grumble.
