"You won't actually need the blood sample. You're taking a full body scan, a foreign body would show up on that too."
"R-right," Emmi stuttered before Galena left the room. The girl's face burned red with embarrassment. In her desire to follow orders she had forgotten the fact that a blood sample was rarely needed for parasites. Now alone, she allowed herself to sigh heavily and feel the shame wash over her. Maybe it wasn't the Jedi way but she allowed herself to feel the emotion before letting it go. She was hear to learn, she reasoned. Learning to work with different kinds of people who were not so reliant on the Force was part of the lesson. After heaving another sigh she put the unnecessary equipment away and scooped up the patient's chart instead. Glancing over it she didn't find anything of value beyond what Dr. Halos had already said.
From where she stood Emmi could faintly hear the raised voices of Dr. Aslot as she defended herself to Dr. Halos. She tried not to listen, not wanting to pry into the conversation she had no business being in. Deep down, though, part of her was satisfied to see Dr. Aslot stand up for herself. Something that was uncharacteristic of the meek Jedi. Shortly after the shouting stopped a text message on her commlink appeared. She was to meet Dr. Aslot with the patient at the body scanner. She gathered the few things they would need and made her way down the hall to the room where the patient was. He was pale and sweaty but most of all scared. He glanced over at Emmi, eyes wide and body tense. She approached him slowly and smiled, using the Force to send him calming feelings in hopes it would make him more relaxed. It appeared to work as she slowly lowered back onto the bed.
"Are you a doctor?" he asked, voice hoarse from strain or vomiting.
"Sort of," Emmi answered with a kind smile as she neared his bed, preparing to move him to the other room. Her voice and aura were calm and soothing. "My name is Emmi Daneb and I'm a Jedi. What's your name?"
"Finn," he answered. "What's a Jedi doing here?"
"I'm just here to help the doctors," she answered with a small shrug. "I'm going to take you to get a body scan. Don't worry it's not invasive at all." The young man relaxed even more and nodded, agreeing to being taken away.
Emmi moved the stretcher and the IV down the hall to the body scan where Dr. Aslot was waiting. She offered the other doctor a friendly smile and looked between the two.
"Dr. Aslot this is Finn," she introduced the man. "Finn, Dr. Aslot." The man nodded, regarding the woman warily.
"Wh-what's the scan for, doctor?"
