He had been sent to the med bay to help out in the clinic area. The administrator wasn't buying his excuses that he needed time to rest. Gunner let out a heavy sigh as the automated doors opened, and he hobbled in with his cane. He could feel the sharp pain running up his bum leg. He paused only to take a stim in order to alleviate his pain. He walked up to the front desk and took a file containing the information of the first patient he was supposed to see. As he walked around the desk, and walked into the first examination room he let out another sigh. He met a young woman who appeared to have the robes of a Jedi on. He did a face palm before looking in to her file. It was only then that he realized that it wasn't a file, but a recommendation from the local Jedi enclave. "I see. So, what brings you here?" In truth, he already knew why she was here. The Jedi felt that they needed to be included in this local practice that had been established by he and several other doctors. It had been fairly recently that he discovered his time in the outer rim would be extended to near permanent. He didn't mind though. He really didn't want to be around Coruscant now that he knew Aldric was also around. He really didn't have a say in this recommendation, but he didn't know how to openly assess her skills. He also had an appointment with another after this. He figured the faster that he got the introductions out of the way, the faster he could get back to doing what he did best. "You're young. You're attractive. Wait, let me guess, you were knocked up by the boy next door and you don't want mommy and daddy to know?" Emmi Daneb Galena Aslot

Galena had been seeking out her new career in Medicine, switching from Forensics to Pathology now. Coming with the career she was following, specifically where she wanted it to go, she had to complete a partnership in the career path, which ended up transferring her to Dantooine. She hadn't gotten to meet the man who was putting the team together... a certain Gunner Halos, but she was getting close, and at this point it was only a matter of waiting to be accepted, her application already having been sent in.
Currently she was working in the clinic, still getting used to life on Dantooine though. She had gone through her partnership well enough, not needing a mentor for long and her case record was already growing despite only having been employed at the clinic on Dantooine for a month or so now on her own. She had treated things from the common cold up to speeder collisions and everything in between, but she still was missing out on anything really outstanding. Currently she sat in the back office during break, using the time to sit and read while nibbling at her lunch. She was reading two things between her break times.
The first was simple medical books, always adding to her knowledge of things like this through constant study. In addition to this she would read case files related to Forensics, which is what she was doing currently. Both on Dantooine and on Coruscant she took time to consult with the forensics departments of each hospital, giving her a series of challenging cases she could help on that gave her a sense of accomplishment. She hated to admit it, but she did kind of miss her old job... but at the same time, she could bring skills that this new and interesting career could use in her opinion.

Emmi already had a teacher, Master Daniel Dumah, and yet the Jedi sent her to learn under a civilian doctor. Of course she hadn't protested when they told her. Learning outside of the temple would be valuable, especially when it came to medicine. Still, Emmi couldn't help but feel that it might be an attempt to separate her from her master whom many thought ill off for his lack of social intelligence. Maybe it was to push the shy young woman out of the nest. Whatever the reason, Emmi arrived at the practice without argument and on time. When she got there, one of the staff of the practice lead her to an exam room where she was to wait for the man whom she would be shadowing.
Emmi waited patiently, staring at one of the walls until the man came in. She smiled kindly at him as he glanced down at her paperwork. "I see. So, what brings you here?" Had no one told him? Emmi's face remained controlled despite her confusion. She was quick to explain her situation. "Oh, the Jedi sent me I'm to be your---" "You're young. You're attractive. Wait, let me guess, you were knocked up by the boy next door and you don't want mommy and daddy to know?" Emmi's face turned white then pink. She was caught completely off guard and not even her calming nature could quite recover in time for her to not stumble all over her words. "Wh-what? N-no, nothing like that...I mean...I'm not pregnant..." Her words became less and less coherent as she tried to recover from the embarrassment. After a deep breath she regained composure and turned her bright green eyes to him. "The Jedi sent me to learn from you. I'm sorry you were not informed ahead of time, sir. My name is Emmi Daneb and I'm a Jedi Healer."

"I know you aren't pregnant. It's morning, you don't appear to be nauseated, you're not holding the back of your neck, and your breasts are still perky. Damn! I do love redheads! Wait...why are you introducing yourself to me?"
"Ha! I'm just yanking your chain! I already know your name. It's in your file. See it right there? Emmi Daneb. What it doesn't say is what exactly you are skilled in. We'll just get into that later. I'm doctor Halos. Welcome to my team. Now, that reminds me. I just have one more thing to take care of."
He sat on a chair and rolled back towards the door. Gunner opened the door and looked outside. There was one other member of his team, and she had been here for a month. However, recent trip to Coruscant had put off the introduction. He didn't know who they were, but he had the file on them as well. He opened up the documents, and scanned for the name of the doctor. Her name was Galena Aslot, and she was a doctor that had been working in the clinic.
"Is there a Galena Aslot here? PAGING GALENA ASLOT! YOU ARE NEEDED IN EXAM ROOM ONE!"
He then turned back around and rolled himself closer to Emmi. He hadn't lied when he said she was attractive. He really didn't have a thing for red hair though. At least the Jedi had sent him eye candy. He looked down at the filed again before looking back up at Emmi. He let out another sigh as he waited.
"Do you think she heard me? So, uh, yeah...what are you doing after your time here today? Are the Jedi allowed to drink?"

Galena had been taking notes on an audio recorder, holding the button down firmly as she spoke her notes down into the recorder. She would copy the files later, and she was taking notes down in a notebook as well, but she did what she could as a consultant of Forensics. There was rarely anything she could work on at a distance, especially sense she was unable to go visit the scene of a crime or a burial site personally from all the way out on Dantooine. The current case was the murder of a boy who had thought himself some kind of Jedi, but in reality had no real powers. It was sad really, but she tried not to think about it like that. Someone had thought it wise to get a second opinion, the police having originally thought it a suicide. She wasn't sure who this person was but he was a genius for not agreeing blindly with the police and she had just proven single-handedly that it was a murder... hopefully something that would put the police on the right track.
Toward the end of her note taking and review though, she could hear the faint cry from the exam rooms, her name being 'paged.' She looked over her shoulder, trying to figure out what it was all about before she set the recorder on the computer, wanting a copy of the recording and evidence for herself before she was leaving the room in the direction of the lobby, pulling her lab coat on again as she pulled her hair back into a tight pony tail, stopping at the reception counter. "Who was that?" She asked with a tilt of her head, before silently being pointed toward Exam room one. She suspected it was some kind of a consult, after all someone who knew her name couldn't have been a patient, especially not here on Dantooine. She didn't see any files on the door though to show what she was walking into, and sighed before stepping in, looking down.
She instantly recognized Doctor Halos as her new employer that she had yet to meet, and then glanced down at the girl sitting on the bed, though saw nothing immediately wrong with her besides the flushing of her cheeks... a tone of red she assumed was blushing and not natural. Something wrong with her adrenal glands then? "What is it?" She asked, closing the door behind herself.

He got up as she entered the room. Gunner acted as if it were to leave the room, but in reality it was just to check her out. She had near perfect composition like she were the work of some master painter that somehow jumped off of the canvas. Maybe he was more so checking her out because he hadn't seen her before. Her first response irked him a bit. He really hoped that she wasn't just some idiot that the collective hired for diversity reasons. Halos again opened the door, and looked out into the hallway. For once, he actually didn't have any real clinic duty. It also just so happened that he thought the administrator had stuck him with two equally as incompetent healers. One was ridiculously shy, and the other was too uptight for him. As the saying went, "First impressions were everything." If that was true to this circumstance, he was definitely less than impressed. Gunner then closed the door and turned his attention back to the women. Specifically, his attention was turned towards Galena.
"Have we met before? I'm trying to remember. No, that's impossible. I'd remember an ass like that!"
Gunner hobbled back over to his chair and took a seat. The doctor twirled his cane before placing it in his lap. He then proceeded to act as if he were reading their files, but in reality he was just looking for a way to escape his current predicament. He could go to the administrator, but she would just tell him that he had to comply. That would suck, and he really did believe that he was capable of doing much of the work on his own. However, the main reason why the team was assembled was because of his leg.
"So, you two will make up my team for now. I promise that this will be no stroll along the beach. People will die, but we will save many more than those we cannot treat. Galena, Emmi, from this moment forward you will be accountable to me. Do you understand that? Good. Well then, let's get to work."

Emmi was visually taken aback by the doctor's comments about her body. Her face stayed red and she looked down at her feet in shame. She had no reason to be ashamed, if anything he did but still shame was all she could feel. Luckily, though, before things got even more uncomfortable he turned his attentions to the other woman who was supposed to be joining the team. He called out of the room for her in an obnoxious fashion. Emmi watched him silently, trying to regain composure. However, his attentino returned to her as he rolled across the floor towards her. The red head stepped back and sat on the exam table in an effort to put distance between herself and the doctor. "Do you think she heard me? So, uh, yeah...what are you doing after your time here today? Are the Jedi allowed to drink?" "I am quite sure she heard you. And yes, Jedi are allowed to drink but I myself do not drink." She hoped that her answer would put any ideas out of his head. The last thing she wanted was more of that sort of attention.
A wave of relief washed over the healer when the other woman entered the room. Perhaps with the two of them there things would be less awkward. This hope was quickly shot down when Dr. Halos commented on the woman's backside. Emmi gave the woman a discrete look in hopes of offering her some kind of support. "So, you two will make up my team for now. I promise that this will be no stroll along the beach. People will die, but we will save many more than those we cannot treat. Galena, Emmi, from this moment forward you will be accountable to me. Do you understand that? Good. Well then, let's get to work." She blinked a couple of times at the sudden change in topic. It was a relief, but the sudden change left Emmi vaguely confused as to how to proceed. She glanced between the woman, Galena, and the doctor. Between the two of them she was the youngest and less experienced. In working with them she would have to rely on the Force to guide her more so than usual. "Yes, let's," she agreed. "Where is it that you plan to start?"

She received no answer to the question she had posed, only sighing a little as she looked to the girl on the operation table, effectively tuning out Gunner's suggestive comments. So she was going to be working with someone like that from now on? She didn't need to worry though, most of the time they were just a lot of talk, and if that wasn't the case she would make sure she laid out her ground for him...
Galena practically looked through him and to the girl, seeing that she didn't appear to be a patient, which meant she was in the room for some other reason. Perhaps she was much like herself? Here to meet with Gunner. That made sense, and it appeared this girl was a Jedi. Galena couldn't recall hearing anything about a Jedi being on the team that was being worked on by Gunner, so this meant she was new. Brand new.
Gunner was soon confirming this for her as he explained they would be making up the new team for him, Emmi trying to give some sort of a comforting look in Galena's direction, though it was a little misguided. If anything, it looked like the girl was the one who needed the comfort. She nodded a bit as she looked down to the man sitting on the stool. "I'm ready." She said confidently as she folded her arms over her chest in agreement with the eager girl on the bed still.
"I've been here a couple months already, something has to have come up if you're wanting to launch the team now. What is it?"

"You've been here for a couple of months? Well, why didn't you say anything? Gah! How do you expect to do anything around here if you don't speak up?"
He smiled at Galena before looking down at a file. He was of course just screwing with her. He had a habit of getting under the skin of mostly anyone he came into contact with. It was all part of his way to try and make people around him better. Well, mostly just the doctors around him. Gunner then looked back at Emmi. She was rather young. It was something that he could not get over yet. He would have to see her in action before he could make an assessment though. Gunner then looked back at the file and tapped a button so that it was brought up to a point where all three of them could view it.
"There was a patient admitted this morning with a fever and extreme loss of body fluids. The nurses and emergency team have ruled out simple dehydration. The iv bags did nothing to help him. The patient is in his early 20s, and is in otherwise good condition. Oh yeah, and he is not responding to typical antibodies. So, this may not be a bacterial infection. Any ideas?"
Gunner already had a hunch as to what the diagnosis was, but he wanted to see if his team would arrive at a similar conclusion. If it was what he thought it was, the problem was curable. However, there were a few red flags. It was likely that the team would have to deal with caring for the patient in hazmat suits in order to prevent themselves from also contracting the disease.

Emmi still felt uncomfortable around the doctor. Surely the council wasn't wrong and he was actually brilliant, but in the moment Emmi felt doubt creep into her mind. The man was intimidating and he made her horribly uncomfortable. However, for the sake of her new position and the mission at hand she had to swallow hard and get over it. The only break came when he turned his attention to Galena and then to the patient. Dr. Halos' description of the patient and his symtoms was vague and generally unhelpful. He hadn't even told them what species the being was. It was wrong to assume he was human, a mistake Emmi had made early on and refused to make once again.
She glanced over at the file, inspecting it, trying to think of something that jumped out at her. Emmi reached out with her feelings, hoping the Force had an answer. If it wasn't a bacterial infection perhaps it was a virus. The fever, however, was something that was usually attributed to bacterial infections and if the disease had lasted longer that also made it likely to be bacterial. Emmi's brow furrowed as she thought about it, trying to come to some kind of conclusion. "How is he loosing fluids?" she asked meekly. "It's strange that antibiotics wouldn't work, many bacterial infections cause fevers..." Her face turned red and she wish she hadn't been the first one to speak.

She stood there now, giving a silent and steady glare to Gunner as he made his comment, her brow arching just a little. She wanted to go through the detailed explanation of why she hadn't come out about any of this yet. It had been her impression that she wouldn't be recruited until later when her partnership was over, and when Gunner actually had put his little team together. She said nothing though, letting the man have his sarcastic moment as she listened then to the description of the man that had been brought in for them.
Galena took a moment to think on a diagnosis, but it was Emmi who spoke up, asking a few questions about the person in addition to what had already been shared. Searching for further information was always a good thing in Galena's opinion... at the same time she also recognized that sometimes you didn't always know all the details. It seemed to her too, that that was Gunner's reason for leaving some things out... in order to test them on how well they used limited amounts of knowledge. Galena spoke up, deciding to put her hypothesis to the test.
"What about infectious parasites?" She suggested, knowing that someone in good health was a likely target for such a parasite, and besides that it would explain all the symptoms, including why treatment seemed to have no effect on the patient.

"You've got to be joking! What is wrong with the both of you? ARE YOU BOTH DENSE?! WHO IN THE HELL DID THEY SEND ME?!"
The doctor whacked the floor with his cane as hard as he could. He could feel the force of the vibration shoot up through his arm. Gunner then shook his head and looked back and forth between the two. He hoped that this first round did not serve as to any indication of the abilities of the two fellows. They were probably thinking about how much he hurt their feelings. Especially that Jedi. He didn't really like the Jedi, and the fact that the enclave imposed upon the hospital made him favor them even less. His nostrils flared as he proceeded to twirl his cane and then mock fire it as if it were a blaster rifle. Halos returned the cane to his side and rubbed his right thigh. The pain was returning. He would have to take care of it later.
"Nice guesses, but you didn't even ask what species the patient is. You have to take that into account before administering any type of treatment. The patient is human. He is loosing fluids through profuse sweating and vomiting. Set him up with an electrolyte stimulant drip. Parasites? I'll let you run with that. Take a blood sample to see if that is the case. While you are both at it, run a full body scan to see if there are any growths."
Gunner got up from the chair, opened the door, and left the two fellows to it. He hadn't eaten since he arrived so he was headed towards the cafeteria. The past few days had been healthy food for whatever reason, and he hoped the trend didn't continue.

Emmi physically jumped at Dr. Halos' sudden outburst. His behavior was a bit shocking and not to Emmi's tastes. Still, she remained quiet and watched the man with a relatively controlled expression. She had dealt with upset patients before and she would again. If anything this was good practice. One of the valuable lessons she had learned in the field with her former master was to not take anything a patient said in anger too personally. She watched him hit his cane on the ground in a sudden burst of anger. With some disappointment, Emmi sensed that this would be a common occurrence with the doctor. Perhaps there was a Jedi calming method that would do him some good. Emmi's controlled face broke into one of confusion when he used the cane to mock a rifle to shoot both herself and Dr. Aslot. She glanced over at the other woman, wondering how she would react to the gesture.
However, after the tantrum he seemed to calm down enough to speak at a more appropriate volume. While you are both at it, run a full body scan to see if there are any growths." Emmi kicked herself for not asking about the species of the patient. Her observations were generally species neutral and she had hoped that would have been clearer. However, it seemed that it had not been clear enough. Dr. Halos quickly left the room, leaving the two women alone. Emmi got off of the exam table and scanned the room for the equipment needed to take the patient's blood sample. She found them in a drawer on one of the walls. Emmi glanced over at the other woman and gave a half smile.

She arched her brow as Gunner began showing his temper, letting him run with his little tantrum without being allowed to say anything further. Gunner looked like he was trying to shoot the both of them down, eventually though he went on to speak his reasoning for the otherwise unexplained outburst. By this point though, Galena wasn't being very patient herself as she narrowed her gaze on the man and watch him critic both herself and the Jedi Girl before he was turning and leaving with his orders now. Her eyes stayed fixed on the door for a moment, already formulating an argument before she was watching the girl move around the room, grabbing something from the drawer.
Galena was fairly certain that wouldn't be necessary. Before she burst like Gunner had though she was speaking up, her tone probably sounding fumed, but at the same time it was much more delicate and polite then Gunner's had been. "You won't actually need the blood sample. You're taking a full body scan, a foreign body would show up on that too." Galena explained, guessing that Gunner was just continuing to pull at their legs on that order. Without saying anything more though she was pushing out the door, looking both ways for Gunner and quickly catching up to him.
"If you thought i was going to let you get away with that, you were wrong." She said as she caught up and lowered her pace back to the man's speed, not having to walk even half her normal speed to keep up with his slowed pace that the cane gave him. "You weren't asking for treatment, you were asking for Diagnosis, and mine was quite Species Neutral." She explained, catching him at his own game. "Next time... just don't make it a game." Galena spoke, her tone having been one that sounded like it wanted to get the last word in, along with getting a little heat vented after the burn she had been handed by the man. Instead of sticking around though she continued down the halls in order to find the Body Scanner and prep it for the mystery patient, messaging Emmi about which Scanner she was prepping. Emmi had been the one who had looked at the file, so she knew where the patient was located, and could bring him from his room down to the Body Scanner.
