Overall Appearance:
Gunner stands at 6'2", and weighs 175 pounds. He is in overall good physical condition except that he has nerve death in his right thigh. As a result, he has a visual limp and usually can be found to walk with a cane. His skin has tanned over the years from many tours with the military. Though a healer, he rarely wears the robes of a practitioner of medicine. This is likely a result of his may years with the military. As a result, he is often seen wearing normal clothing or light armor.
PERSONALITY
Equipped with a dry, acerbic almost cruel sense of humor, Halos is enigmatic and conceals many facets of his personality with a veneer of sarcasm. He appears and sometimes himself claims to be narcissistic (although he also shows many signs of self-contempt which would be impossible for an actual narcissist) and appears to disdain most people, leading some to label him "a misanthrope." He has contempt for most societal institutions including feminism and religion. House is an atheist and it is implied that he is nihilistic. Despite his cynicism, he does seem to care about his colleagues to a certain extent and while considering them "idiots" is able to sometimes put aside his pride and apologize when he has offended them in a particularly cruel fashion.

Gunner Halos was born into an influential family on Naboo. Growing up, Gunner had always had the best of everything. He was an only child. As a young adult, Gunner left Naboo to go to Coruscant to study science and medicine. While in a fellowship, Gunner was required to teach at one of the more prestigious universities. It was there that he met his ex-wife, Alwen Cibre. Soon the couple had three children; Aya, Brody, and Aldric.
Gunner rarely ever saw his children. Soon after Aya was born, Gunner answered the call of the Republic and joined the Army. He served as a doctor in the Army for nearly fifteen years before he was shot during an ambush on Tatooine. The shot destroyed muscle in Gunner's leg, and Alwen had to decide whether or not to proceed with an amputation of the leg. Gunner had already told her that he didn't want the operation, and that there was a procedure where he could keep his leg. However, when into a chemically induced coma, the attending physician told her that the pain would likely end up killing Gunner. Alwen then asked whether or not there was a compromise. There was, Gunner could keep his leg if he were to have a portion of his damaged muscle removed. She agreed to the procedure, and when Gunner woke up he soon realized what happened. Gunner would stay with Alwen for one more year before leaving her.
Since that time, he has not been in contact with any member of his family. He has however heard that his daughter is a treasure hunter, Brody is a detective, and Aldric is also detective. While he realized that he no longer really warranted a say in the life of his family, he could not help but wonder how life would have been had he stayed with Alwen. However, his stubborn ways would never allow for hi to be in contact with his ex-wife or his family on that level ever again.
Gunner's arrival into the Old Republic was one he couldn't really explain. He was high on an experimental drug in an attempt to discredit another healer while on board a ship. The ship was hit by what many thought to be a solar flare, and nothing went noticed until the ship crash landed on Dantooine. When Gunner finally sobered up, he realized that he was in an examination room being looked after by Jedi healers. He looked at their equipment and instantly thought it was primitive. The doctor than went about berating Jedi until he had to come to grips with the year, and that he wasn't still on a high. Ever since then, Gunner has opened up a practice on Dantooine, and regularly goes between Dantooine and Coruscant.
