The both of them continued to eat for a few moments. Obi-Wan was much smaller in stature then Boss Gallo was, and so he wasn't able to eat as much food as easily, but he was still endeavoring to try as much as he could. Soon enough he was pushing his plate out of the way though, deciding to wait for the rest of the main course to be brought out so he could enjoy as much as he could from that meal.
When the beginning course was taken away, Gallo began to inquire further about Obi-Wan, asking of the Republic and in an extension he would explain the Jedi Order as well. Obi-Wan nodded a bit and leaned forward again in order to converse with the Gungan chief. "Well the Republic is an organized government that oversees thousands of planets and star systems." He began, but continued right on speaking. "They act with a Senate to oversee all of these worlds and keep them in line... where as the Jedi Order act as it's peace keepers. We focus on protecting the worlds and keeping the peace, we act in the day to day affairs of the worlds... and currently they are based out of Dantooine." Obi-Wan explained, though paused now to see if Gallo had any questions.

Gallo sat back as he listened to Obi-Wan explain the Republic. Apparently it was a government that oversaw multiple planets. This confused Gallo though hadn't they already been working with the humans on Naboo? Did that mean they controlled the entire planet? This all sounded so strange o the Gungan. He had forever lived in his swamps so he didn't communicate much with the outside world, so all of this was confusing to him. He also spoke of the Jedi order how they were supposed to be some sort of protectors. He also mentioned that they are based on Datooine which Gallo didn't know about. He barely knew of the planets in his sector.
"Mesa is haven a hard time understanden disen," Gallo said scratching his chin. It would probably be awhile before he would get any of this but hey that's what happens when you are secluded in the swamps. The Gungans rarely even communicated with the humans of their planet so all this talk about galactic organizations was just crazy confusing for him. But he did get a few things like peace. That he could get behind. "Yousa say dah jedi given peace maybe mesa believe yousa, dough mesa thinks yousa will showen dis soon," Gallo said looking over seeing all the tables had been prepared, as food was being brought out, and Gungans began entering the great hall.
"Wesa talk later about disen," Gallo said getting up gesturing for Obi-Wan to follow. Gallo made his way to the end of the centermost table because he was the boss so of course he got the center end seat. He gestured to his left for Obi-Wan to sit in the side chair of the table. Across from him sat a rustic battleworn Gungan. "General Baborse, disen ah guest from dah Jedi order," Gallo said making the introductions. "Obi-Wan disen dah Captain of dah tribe ifen yousa really here for maken dah peace yousa will be meeten with him also dough dat is for after dah feast," Gallo said to which his captain gave Obi-Wan a quick glance before sayen, "Asa yousa wishen Boss."
It was then the glurrgs began to bring out the food. For each long table two large nerfs were placed upon them. As well plates of Gooberfish, Nyorks wrapped in Nave leaves, and of course the Yobshrimp also made a reappearance as bowls of live Yobshrimp were placed on the tables. Full Clodhopper legs and Shaak steaks were also brought. It was truly a feast. All the Gungans looked upon Gallo as a glurrg got for him some food on a plate. He looked around at all the Gungans taking his first bite before saying, "Wesa feast now."
"Obi-Wan explainen disen Jedi order and Republic for Wesa again dah Captain would probably like to hear," Gallo said before eating some of the nerf meat.

He had to pause after a moment of explaining things before he realized that everything he was saying practically was going over Boss Gallo's head. Obi-Wan hadn't thought for a moment that this tribe... or the Gungan civilization as a whole would have been this isolated. He blinked, remembering how much they had been cut away from society in the past when he had had encounters with them. They didn't even speak with the Naboo did they?
Obi-Wan sighed a little, realizing he would have to take a new approach to all of this as he moved his hand up to his chin in thought. Before he could say anything further on the matter though his attention was being brought away to the fact that food was being brought in and tables made up and set for the feast that was following. Obi-Wan hadn't even noticed the progress up to this moment, but nodded a little when he saw the signal that Gallo made in order to subtly tell him to move out of the way and back to the main table. Obi-Wan did as was asked of him and ended up setting on Boss Gallo's left as his guest.
He nodded lightly in greeting to the general that was sat opposite to him, though said nothing until he was formally introduced by the boss and vice versa. When he was told he would be working with this General more frequently during the works of making peace between the tribes, Obi-Wan only smiled a little with a nod. "I'm looking forward to it." He commented lightly with another nod before he was turning his attention back to Gallo as he made his next request, that Obi-Wan explain the Jedi and Republic once more to them.
This time he would learn from his previous mistake and take a new approach with all of this in order to explain it more accurately for them all. He took a short pause in order to compile his thoughts before he was speaking once more to explain for them. "The Republic work with local governments in order to maintain the different worlds across the Galaxy..." Obi-Wan explained before pausing to make a distinction between the Gungans and the Naboo. "For example they already work with the Naboo people... but the Gungans stand as a separate Government. The Republic doesn't force you into it's jurisdiction just because the planet is under Republic control, but you do benefit from it." He explained a little, deciding to leave the more difficult aspects out for the moment. They were hardly grasping this as it was, and he didn't want to over complicate things for them. They would learn about things such as the senate in due time though.
"The Jedi Order on the other hand act as the Republic's peace keepers. If there are feuds, such as what is going on here and now between the tribes, it interests them greatly. They would rather things end peacefully then in blood, and so they dispatch Jedi, just as myself in this situation, in order to make sure there is anything to be done in order to help make things as smooth as possible." He sighed lightly before the final part. "However, the Republic and Jedi are limited as to what we can do with those outside the Republic's jurisdiction. I can't act outside of our guidelines, and i can't interfere with your beliefs. As such, in these situations i can act as little more then a voice for you to listen to or ignore. I cannot fight battles for you, and i cannot make negotiations on your behalf." He explained, not attempting to sway them to join the Republic yet, unless of course they were interested in those added benefits.

Gallo listened intently again as he began eating a gooberfish. He sort of got what the Jedi was saying. Gallo while a little isolated was no fool to that fact that there were countless worlds out there. The humans weren't natives to Naboo they colonized the world, and then there were the Elders. The Elders were a bizarre species that has since gone extinct but they were the ones who caused the gungans to flee into the swamps of Naboo. Now all that remained of them are ancient structures and giant head monuments that they built in their likeness.
So if Gallo was understanding what Obi-Wan was saying was that the Republic was an organization that sought to unify the worlds sort of like what Gallo had planned for the Gungan tribes. Except the Republic considered the humans of Naboo and the Gungans to be separate, which Gallo was glad to hear. "Hmmm," He said scratching his chin as he began eating a Shaak steak as well. He peered over at Captain Barborse to see how he was taking it. From the looks of it he was still taking in all the information as he ate a Clodhopper leg.
Gallo listened on more as Obi-Wan spoke on about the Jedi order, which Gallo was also starting to get. It was basically like a small military of sorts sent to places to do stuff for the Republic. As Obi-Wan continued to speak about how he was limited Gallo scratched his chin some more as he continued to eat. Barborse on the other hand began lowering his clodhopper leg a look of disinterest filling his face. Once Obi-Wan was finished he spoke up, "Why would dah Gungans be needen yousa. Wesa no be needen yousa help."
"Dat is not for yousa to decide Barborse, P'haps we listen asen to what dah humans can offer usen," Gallo said shifting his glance from hsi to Captain to Obi-Wan. "Dah gungans have lived for many years whaten can yousa offer to mesa, ifen I don't join dis Republic, and what ifen I do join dis Republic den what can yousa offer dah gungans?" Gallo asked finally taking another bite of gooberfish.

As wasn't really surprising to Obi-Wan, Gallo was accepting of Obi-Wan's proposal at the moment. Or at the very least he was willing to listen to him and hear him out. This was even more apparent as the Gungan stat there still, humming lightly in thought to himself and scratching his chin. What Obi-Wan hadn't counted on was the other Gungan captain though to speak out so rashly as he attempted to dispute Obi-Wan and his help. He sighed lightly, but he wasn't thrown by the reaction. After all he did remember the Gungan's being a very strong and independent race before the battle of Naboo when they did finally agree to join with the Naboo people and the rest of the Republic.
No sooner then the captain had spoken out of turn though, Gallo spoke and talked him down a little, trying to help Obi-Wan in a small way; though he still needed to explain how the Jedi and Republic could actually prove to help the Gungan people. Sighing lightly he leaned forward a little before he began to make his explanation slowly. "You are making large steps for peace here on Naboo Boss Gallo... but... some may not see it that way, and my act against you. As a Jedi Knight it is my job to protect you and anyone who needs it from threats like that. However that is all I am allowed. As a Servant of the Republic I am limited in over stepping my authority to aid a faction such as yours where i and the Republic may not be welcome." He explained, pausing only a moment before he continued further.
"If you were with the Republic I could aid you further then mere protection. I could more fully aid you in anything unpredictable that might come up, and aid in any kind of negotiations that you might need my help with; advising you if you wish me too. There would be long term benefits as well..." He added. "Aid for any future incursions... natural disasters, wars, plagues, droughts.... anything of the sort." He explained, hoping this cleared a few things up for them. "I am here to do my duty as Jedi, not recruit you into the Republic; But i do believe they could help you in your people during these formative years."

The flattery was nice. It made Gallo feel nice inside as he continue to eat, getting a yoboshrimp and plucking of the claws and sucking out the meat. Though the flattery turned to a warning of sorts. No one would dare stand against Gallo he was the boss of the tribe, to go against him would be treason. Also any who did would learn real quickly the meaning of a beating. Though Gallo was a bit on the husky side he was no slouch, he packed a mighty punch and unlike some bosses he knew how to use a weapon. He was a little bit of an oddity as a lot of bosses tended to stay within their tribes and just lead through words. Gallo led through words and actions. It was still good to hear though that the Jedi would be there to give the Boss extra protection.
Gallo didn't know if he truly needed an additional negotiator. His tactics were pretty great: Listen, do task, get support, rinse and repeat, or just smash. It worked in the past. As well the advising seemed like something that should of come with the no join package but Gallo would deal. He was curious at the long term benefits though. So the Republic could help the Gungans when natural disaster struck. The Gungans never had too much problem with those in the past though support against any possible invaders would be nice.
"Mesa will consult dah elders on dis one and tink about it for a bit," Gallo said eyeing his captain before he ate another Nerf steak. The Captain spoke up again, "Yes wesa will." "For now dough wesa feast, and den wesa cans talk on dah uniten of dah tribes. If yousa is also stayen mesa might have a spot for yousa to stay," Gallo said finally as he ate some more food, his gullet taking it all in.

It seemed that Obi-Wan had Gallo's attention while he was speaking. He was given the time to speak, explaining the whole situation and as many details as he could to them until silence fell in the room once more. Gallo and his general both seemed to think it over a moment, and Obi-Wan sat waiting patiently for the moment as they thought on it among themselves until eventually the Boss spoke and explained that they would have to think on it as a group before deciding fully.
To this Obi-Wan just bowed his head respectfully to their decision. "Yes of course, I understand." He replied, deciding it wouldn't hurt him to let them have some time to think this through. It was a rather big choice to make, deciding whether or not to side with a faction you had never heard of before. After a moment the comment about the feast was added and Obi-Wan Smiled lightly, more then happy to stay for the rest of the dinner.
With the mention of a room for Obi-Wan though he nodded once more. "Yes... Yes I do suppose I will be needing a place to stay. Thank you." He commented with a grateful look on his face. He then settled back in the seat a little more comfortably again and waited for the rest of the meals to be brought out, not just the starting portions that sit before him.
